I'm not certain about your last, there. I think the confidence level is very high that this virus did originate in Wuhan from natural sources. What may have been behind the spread of it will likely never be known. It could be a simply natural consequence of our interactive world, but I wouldn't entirely dismiss the Chinese propensity for exploiting such situations. The Chinese threat to cut off the supply of essential medications to the west is enough to establish ill intent.
The origins of this are not well understood. My less than crystal clear understanding is that the virus was thriving in bats many, may miles from the "Wet Market".
Reports have been that the DNA of the virus, withheld by the Chinese, did not appear to have been altered mechanically. This does not rule out breeding as is done to create our thoroughbred horses.
We know this is done for horses, corn, wheat and all manner of stuff commonly used in our world.
We know the Chinese were at least monumentally negligent. There is a fine line between this level of negligence and outright maliciousness. Drunk driving vs reckless driving. People still die.
Whatever the origin, the result is that everyone, including us, now understands what the spread of this virus or any other bug will be just letting things roll out in the normal processes.
The NEXT time it might be another bug that takes 2 weeks to show symptoms but is contagious allowing wide spread infection but then kills in high percentages like the Black Death.
Whatever it is, wherever it came from and however it was developed, it's not really a flu and not really a Black Death.
It kills some. Some seem to be just immune. It has affected the entire world and, if the motives to make this happen are not benign, it's going to be done again. And again.
