Five more brands of hand sanitizer could be toxic, FDA says - pennlive.com

These hand sanitizers are all made in Mexico & contain toxic methanol. List available at link above.

According to the FDA, these hand sanitizers have “been tested by FDA and found to contain methanol, that is being recalled by the manufacturer or distributor, that is purportedly made at the same facility as products in which FDA has tested and confirmed methanol contamination.”

In late June, the FDA had issued the same warning about nine hand sanitizer brands made by Eskbiochem SA de CV in Mexico. Five more brands of hand sanitizer could be toxic, FDA says - pennlive.com

List of brands available at the link below.

The agency tested samples of Lavar Gel and CleanCare No Germ. Lavar Gel was found to contain 81% methanol and no ethyl alcohol, and CleanCare No Germ contains 28% methanol. Methanol is not an acceptable ingredient for hand sanitizers and should not be used due to its toxic effects, the FDA said.

Substantial methanol exposure can result in nausea, vomiting, headache, blurred vision, permanent blindness, seizures, coma, permanent damage to the nervous system or death.

Yeah. But do they work?

Yeah. But do they work?

They may but methanol is toxic.

There have been relatively recent reports of tourists in MX getting ill from bars using methanol instead of ethanol in drinks. It can make you go blind.

Methanol is a killer. The Feds used it by replacing all ethanol products they possibly could with methanol during Prohibition. That way, illegal production would often be left with using methanol and end up killing at least 10,000 people. Virtual extermination.
