Every study that has looked at excess deaths this year is finding that we are UNDERcounting COVID-19 deaths.

Here is the latest one, covering the period of March through May.

"Of the 122,300 excess deaths, 95,235 were attributed to Covid-19, they said. Most of the rest of the excess deaths, researchers said, were likely related to or directly caused by the coronavirus."

This means deaths are undercounted roughly by 28%.

The 781,000 total deaths in the U.S. in the three months through May 30 were nearly 19% higher than what would normally be expected, the study said.

So the actual number of COVID-19 deaths is 148,390?

Thanks Trump.

Colorado has made a stunning and significant change to the way it counts COVID-19 deaths that reduced the statewide figure from more than 1,000 to 878, according to a report.

The change came after Colorado’s Department of Public Health admitted that its COVID-19 death toll was counting those who tested positive for the coronavirus but had died of other causes, Fox 31 Denver reported late Friday.

The department now says 1,150 Coloradoans who died had COVID-19 but only 878 of those deaths were “due to” COVID-19.

Birx says government is classifying all deaths of patients with coronavirus as 'COVID-19' deaths, regardless of cause

Birx says government is classifying all deaths of patients with coronavirus as '''COVID-19''' deaths, regardless of cause | Fox News

The federal government is classifying the deaths of patients infected with the coronavirus as COVID-19 deaths, regardless of any underlying health issues that could have contributed to the loss of someone's life.

Dr. Deborah Birx, the response coordinator for the White House coronavirus task force, said the federal government is continuing to count the suspected COVID-19 deaths, despite other nations doing the opposite.

^^No clue what the true number is? Nope not a clue!^^

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is essentially setting policy across the country, endlessly putting out a stream of so-called facts (that they then revise or rescind).

Their latest update on COVID-19, posted on Tuesday, is a real doozy. Here’s what the CDC said in a section headlined: What do your results mean?

“A positive test result shows you may have antibodies from an infection with the virus that causes COVID-19. However, there is a chance a positive result means that you have antibodies from an infection with a virus from the same family of viruses (called coronaviruses), such as the one that causes the common cold.”

That’s right, because COVID-19 is a coronavirus (like the common cold), your positive test means you have COVID-19 (or the common cold).

Now Even The COMMON COLD Is Being Counted As A Positive COVID-19 Result, CDC Says

Seems COVID-19 infection counts are likely over counted, too

But yeah...Colorado has struck a balance when counting deaths. They give two numbers. You can take your pick.

1,690

1,520

To me, the important number is "Deaths due to COVID-19"

When you overcount deaths by 100 for one reason, but then also undercount them by 10,000 for a different reason, you are still undercounting them by close to 10,000.

Point is OVERALL number of deaths is clearly undercounted despite various reported individual over-counts. There are many reasons for UNDERcounting on a massive scale.

Pretty much this. We had a piss poor response in setting up testing and are still struggling a bit, so these deaths are not properly classified as COVID

You should get your numbers straight.

If you are talking about Colorado, your numbers are bull****. Colorado overcounted deaths by MUCH more than 100...and they haven't undercounted them at all.

If you are talking about nationally, your numbers are STILL bull****. Nationwide overcounting is MUCH more than 100.

In any case, there is one overarching reason for the massive overcounting of deaths: Hospitals get extra federal funds when they say a death occurred because of COVID-19. They ALL want that extra money.

What's bull**** is your nonsense actually. As the study clearly shows, overall, there is massive UNDERcounting going on - a lot of people do not get tested after they die. It's simple is that.

I understand you don't trust people that actually study the data, but hey, you are just another Trump supporter, so par for the course.

Dismissed.

You want to test people "after they die"? Why? So you can say, "Oh...they had the virus. That means they died of the virus. It's a COVID-19 death."

Yeah...that's why we have the massive overcount. Those people didn't die from the virus. They just happened to have been exposed to it.

So no...that study is perpetuating nonsense.

You don't even understand the basics - we have EXCESS DEATHS over what would be expected otherwise. Yes, that means they died BECAUSE of virus, even if because virus exacerbated one of the comorbidities.

I understand the basics.

The bottom line of that study is nothing more than a guess. Their conclusions are based on one word: "likely".

Sorry...but any change in numbers has to be more definite than that. That study doesn't give anything definite.

Yes of course, it's just a coincidence we had many more people die from March to May :screwy

Until one can give a reasoning that is more substantial than "likely", yes...all you can say is "coincidence".

You do realize that much of the stuff you spout off as facts on this forum is because it's "likely" (others would in fact correctly argue it's NOT even likely)

And this is relevant...how?

Does your claim about "me" invalidate my claim about that study?

I don't think so, but I can see how making your claim about me makes you feel better when you get slapped upside the head.

And this is relevant...how?

It's relevant because "likely" from a research study is much more definite than what you believe is "likely" in most your posts. So, if you deny research study "likely" as nothing but a "coincidence", you really should not be posting most of your assertions without also saying that really they are just coincidences.

Suicides are up. Covid clearly shot them in the head.

If you have some data about number of suicides in US vs prior years, link to it. I did not see any concrete data on suicides being up across the US as a whole.
