Only two US states are reporting a decline in new coronavirus cases

Of course there's differentiation. But there needs to be some basic safety for the public. No different than we have basic Constitutional Rights that apply to all.
"We're from the Federal Government and we're to help" :lamo

No idea. Deaths lag infection. We'll have to see.

While we are waiting to see if deaths are increasing from the relaxing of the quarantine, can we take some time to assess the damage done to businesses across the country, not to mention the financial stabilities of tens of millions of American homes, hundreds of US cities, handfuls of US states, and the overall indebtedness of the nation going forward?

That's a perfectly fair point.

As long as we keep in mind that as the pandemic goes so goes the economy.

Memes are not evedientiary arguments.
I thought of it as more of a cautionary tale. I just do see how adding another layer of abstraction to the management pyramid helps. What works for Florida might be overkill for Montana, for instance.

Oh come-on, don't make me lead you.

" ... and policy deficiencies in one state will negatively effect the others'"
Yeah, I was afraid that was where you were going. Of course the assumption that merely being employed by the federal government imbues one with extraordinary skills or wisdom has long been disproved.

Well, I suppose that's a fair point to argue.

American history has taught us that we can lose upwards of 10,000 young able-bodied men a month for 4 years straight and the economy will still keep moving. What we have never learned from history is whether we can shut down our economy for 4 straight months and not suffer irreparable fiscal damage or collapse.

You've lost me, here.

You've lost me, here.

America suffered the loss of nearly 10,000 young men a month during WW2 and kept moving. America has never experimented with shutting down the economy for months. That seems to be a very bad and highly risky thing to do as an experiment to try to save Americans from getting into serious trouble of one sort or another.
