GOP Sheriff Who Refused To Enforce Coronavirus Lockdown Tests Positive At White House

Arizona Sheriff Mark Lamb said he likely contracted COVID-19 at a campaign event. He tested positive ahead of meeting with Donald Trump.

A Republican sheriff in Arizona who in April said he would refuse to continue enforcing the state’s coronavirus lockdown order has tested positive for the contagion during a visit to the White House.

Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb announced his positive diagnosis on Facebook Wednesday. Lamb said he likely contracted the virus at a campaign event Saturday. He was asymptomatic when screened at the White House on Tuesday, where he said he’d been invited to join President Donald Trump.

Trump on Tuesday announced his executive order on police reform.

Lamb said he would self-quarantine “for the next 14 days minimum.” The Pinal County Public Health Department is tracing everyone who came into contact with him following the campaign event.

“Unfortunately, as a law enforcement official and elected leader, we do not have the luxury of staying home,” he wrote. “This line of work is inherently dangerous, and that is a risk we take when we sign up for the job.”

I guess I will just politely say I’m not surprised he contracted Covid 19 .

I am concerned he could have spread it to many others.

This whole defiance to safety measures is pretty daft. While one can debate the impact of COVID 19 on certain individuals, to willfully avoid protocols and get sick is a pointless act of bravado.

I've noticed that liberals such as yourself, are consistently unable to communicate in an intelligent manner, and often have to resort to vulgar insults to get their point across. Is this because you are not capable of interacting like a normal adult, or do you simply choose not to?

What I find most telling about all this is the sheriff refused to follow his state's lockdown order, but willfully submits to a FAR more stringent "lock down order" to visit Trump, which is everyone allowed near Trump's cowardly rear end is tested. So as always, it's one rule for the elites and another for the rest of us, and idiots like this sheriff don't appear to notice that distinction. Trump is encouraging us all to take risks that Trump and all those around him do everything within his power to avoid. They're important, I guess, and we're not.

Please tell me, do you think that this Sheriff has some judgement issues? Do you think that his breaking the law on lockdown was wrong? Do you think he sets a bad example?

We have a lot of folk like this in rural Arizona, this guy was just like the whiny gun toting protesters that wanted the state opened early so they could get haircuts. Our governor opened the state early, and now we are paying for it, we have become a covid hotspot.

Trump is certainly willing to harshly criticize people when he thinks it warranted, but I've only very rarely seen him use foul language. Frequent recourse to vulgar words to describe one's opponents is a sign of immaturity, in my experience.

I will respect a person who uses an occasional vulgar word over one that needs to bold faced lie about negatively life altering things on a regular basis any day.

Harshly criticizing has nothing to do with what what most object to.....it is that he lies ...even denies he lies when there is audiovisual evidence otherwise. Lies about the lies and calls it "fake news"
