Is anyone ready for the explosive increase in Covid-19 cases that will certainly happen within a week or so of the first day of these protests? Are the hospitals ready for the load of new cases? Do they have enough ICU beds and ventilators?

Oh ... but only old people die from Covid-19, right?

The worst part about this moment in time is that it isn’t even within orders of magnitude of just how bad things are going to get, and that’s not just the USA.

People couldn’t deal with ten weeks before exploding. What will they do after ten months, when there’s no guarantee for a widespread vaccine and therapeutic relief.

For anywhere that COVID is still thriving, this probably qualifies as a super-spreader event.

However, I'm sure that somehow it'll still be Trump's fault.

It takes a lot longer than a week to have an "explosive increase". But yeah, I was thinking the same thing - Covid will go up to some degree with this activity. Many of these young people won't be that symptomatic, but they'll give it to their parents & grandparents.

I think 6-8 weeks might be a better time to note an increase.

A good place to contract COVID is in a jail's holding cell, or i the back of a paddy wagon. I saw no masks on any of the 'demonstrators.'
