Camden County Health Department announced that a Boone County resident tested positive for the novel coronavirus after visiting the Lake of the Ozarks area over the holiday weekend.

The Boone County subject arrived at the lake on Saturday, May 23 and "developed illness" on Sunday, according to a news release obtained by LakeNewsOnline.com, which like the News-Leader is part of the USA TODAY Network.

The infected person "was likely incubating illness and possibly infectious at the time of the visit," the health department said.

Bit crude, but I would not be surprised if there is a surge in Missiouri in 2 to 3 weeks because of that.

Trump supporter arguments in this thread make zero sense. If I know there’s a highly contagious virus tearing through the population, regardless of who or what caused it, I wouldn’t ignore all safety measures and put myself at risk.

It wouldn’t matter if a super secret military Chinese laboratory created the virus and deliberately released it into the world, that doesn’t absolve Trump of ignoring the threat.

It wouldn’t matter if New York lost control of the outbreak, that doesn’t give permission to people in Missouri to pretend the threat doesn’t exist.

This administration failed to do something that you'd think they'd be eminently capable of doing, crafting an effective message designed to make its fans feel they are being protected by public health emergency laws.
Instead it has taught them to fear and reject those laws as an infringement on their rights.
I just don't get how that makes sense, because if you wind up on a ventilator with your ass in the air and separated from your loved ones, it's not as if you suddenly have more rights, or even the rights you thought you had.

China is responsible for their mishandling of the outbreak. Trump is responsible for how he chose to ignore the outbreak and let it tear through the country unchecked. Each state is subsequently responsible for how it chooses to react to the outbreak, either implementing quarantine measures or not. Each city in turn is responsible for how it chooses to respond to the outbreak. And at the end of all of this, I’m responsible for putting my family at risk by following safety measures or ignoring them altogether.

Everybody who through negligence puts themselves and others at risk is accountable. China is accountable and will suffer diplomatically for what they did. Trump is accountable and will be voted out of office. Any governor who acted in negligence is accountable and will be voted out of office. Same with any mayor. And though I will not be voted out of office because I don’t hold any, I will be accountable to my family in my own way.

Health officials say that one of the quickest ways to predict that is the sewer systems, surprisingly.
Apparently the virus material shows up in sewers first....about a week or so before people start winding up in hospitals.

The Redneck Riviera will be a drop in the bucket compared to the spread of covid in these crowded protests and riots.

If that's the case, how come Tawain, which had a pandemic response team in place, and acted immediately when it showed up, manged to control things , and have very few deaths? Huh? Why can they, who had been planning for another pandemic with testing and a pandemic response team in place, and education manage to avoid things, while Trump denied it while it was here. You can stop it, if you get it early enough. Trump was in denial, even as it was declared a pandemic.

10's of Thousands of lives could have been saved.

The idiots in my area have also resumed not observing social distancing. I saw a bunch of them having a yard get together yesterday with the kids all less than a foot from each other. Dumb
