The claim is that everyone should wear a mask to prevent infecting others - and if you get infected needlessly you infect others. It is known a person can become infected thru your eyes - and thus infect others. So do you wear a face shield/goggles when in public?

Masks:
1. Very limited effectiveness, particularly homemade
2. Actual rated masks (N95s) are not available to public
3. Restrict breathing
4. Should be replaced every hour worn
5. Can't drink, eat or smoke while wearing a mask
6. Hide a person's identity
7. Are unpleasant to wear, breathing back in hot moist air
8. Become bio-hazards with virus and bacteria
9. You have to keep buying more continuously

Goggles/face shield:
1. Cheap and available for under $10 (goggles)
2. Only need one - clean it with ordinary soap and water
3. Do not restrict vision or breathing
4. You can eat, drink and smoke wearing goggles
5. Re-usable - you will only ever need to buy one

In my opinion, anyone not wearing goggles or a face shield in public around others actually doesn't believe any of this about the shut down and masks. That the experts and governors don't order people wear goggles/face shield proves they don't believe any of the 24/7 bio-terrorism campaign either.

Anyone lecturing and ranting about wearing masks, but doesn't wear goggles or a face shield is a total hypocrite who doesn't believe a word they say about covid-19.

You can infect others by looking at them?

As understand it the point of masks is more to keep you from infecting others.

For non N95 yes, it is about reducing the chance to infect others. Face masks and googles would protect the wearer from direct spray from an infected person but would not help against aerosolized virus droplets

The most important thing is to always 100% contradict everything IF doing so supports the shut down.

THE reason for closing schools and keeping them closed is because if kids - who have virtually zero chance of dying of covid-19 - become infected they will infect their parents, grandparents and others.

But no, WAIT - all that said and that reason REALLY was just more BIG lies. If you wear a mask in public you can't affect anyone in public or in your home.

This is the history of this all - tell any lies, non stop keep saying "everything we said before was exactly opposite from the truth" - incessantly.

OK now NOW it is ok for infected people to around others - provided they are not closer to anyone than 6 feet - including at home.

What will we be told was 100% lies to defend the shutdown next?
 
Since this question highlights that essentially NO ONE believes the BS about the shutdown and covid-19 it is predictable people will avoid this thread like the plague.

Those ranting, demanding and sobbing about covid-19 demanding everything be shut down is NOT for fear of covid-19 nor has anything to do with infecting people or getting infected. Rather, most are just lazy ass bums who see covid-19 as an excuse to never do any work. Instead, they want to just sit on their asses getting drunk and stoned, while wanting for their next "stimulus" and unemployment check. For many, instead it should be called the "Lazy Ass Bum" check.

The point of the mask is to prevent transmission.

If you wish to wear more (because assholes around you are noncompliant) that is probably not a bad idea. I prefer to avoid free range assholes not wearing masks.

Point 1: Wearing a mask reduces but does not eliminate risk of transmission. Said risk is significantly higher indoors than it is outdoors.

Point 2: Do you seriously think your average 10 year old is gonna wear a mask all day?
