Johnny Cash's granddaughter was taunted for wearing a protective face mask while taking an innocent trip to the grocery store.

The late singer's daughter Rosanne Cash tweeted about the ordeal on Tuesday.

"My daughter lives in Nashville & wore her mask to buy groceries. Guy yells at her: 'Liberal p---y!'" she tweeted.

Throughout the United States and beyond, citizens are recommended to wear protective gear amid the coronavirus pandemic, with many states and businesses enforcing it. Rosanne furthered that her daughter needs to be especially careful when it comes to COVID-19 because of a scary encounter she once had with a strain of the flu. She did not reveal which one of her daughters this happened to.

"Back story: she nearly died of H1N1. She was in the ICU for a week, on a ventilator for 3 days. She CANNOT get covid. The ignorance & hatred is so painful. She’s trying to survive," the upset mother added.

The problem is the worst in society is always just below the surface waiting for an excuse to show itself.

The problem between good an evil is that good works at a disadvantage. It is harder to be good. It therefore takes a strong person to be good all the time and most of us don't rise up to that level of strength. So, give us a reason to be bad and we excuse ourselves and give ourselves permission to act as we shouldn't.

Whether that be a pandemic, one bad police officer acting out of sync with community standards, any number of reasons we delude ourselves into thinking that the poison something or someone has put into the world is reason enough for us to add some or our own. Not stopping to consider that is the aggregate effect that moves us all down another notch. That our own bad behavior is not excusing someone else's.

One can hope that good, while harder to do, having a better long term payoff is the inducement necessary to make folks want to do right... Like I said, one can hope.

Like lemmings they are massing together in a vain attempt to show their disdain for the grim reality that their leader failed us...and them. He told them that "only he can fix it" and proceeded to do nothing to stop this plague from crippling us as a nation. No other nation has suffered as much and it is not nearly over.

being a belligerent and dangerous moron is now a right wing political statement, apparently. they don't just infect each other. they also pose a risk to people who aren't moronic assholes, as well. i see this **** every day where i live. they have been pretending that things are back to normal and that this is all just a stupid hoax for weeks. i'd say maybe twenty percent tops around here are wearing masks into stores.

It is. First of all, I have never in my life heard a man call a woman a *****. Ever. Have you? Second, masks are very common here in Ohio, particularly in grocery stores. There was a stretch a few weeks ago where you felt odd not wearing one. Last time I was at the store it was less than half that had one on. Is it possible that some A-hole shouted that out? Sure. Is it a sign of the collapse of our society. Nah. The odds are greater that the story is bull****.

sadly some on the right (the ones who heckle people for wearing masks and those aggressive towards people working at stores/bars/restaurants/etc. where masks are mandatory) are absolute morons, maybe some on the left too (those illogical enough to not wear masks) but most of the left will not be heckling people for being smart and responsible, they are more snooty passive aggressive dirty looks kind of anti-social snobs than heckling like little toddlers.

there is a real smart / dumb thing going on when it comes to wearing masks or not. of course, that's going on with supporting Tweety or being disgusted by him, too. someone should make a Venn diagram so that we can really get to the bottom of it.
