Well, guess what? We have passed the 100,000 mark and are on track to exceed 110,000 by months end. And the tragedy is that we knew how to fight this and used non of the tools available to us. NYC, because it is a global hub, was unavoidable, but the rest of the country absolutely fell down on the job. Before this virus hit many parts of the country we new it was coming. The tools to fight it are well known to public health officials. Test, isolate, contact trace, test, isolate, contact trace. Many states which have deaths in the thousands could have come out of this with deaths in the hundreds, or even in the dozens. None of this has been done, none of this is being done even as the numbers continue their inexorable growth.

Tracing works as a preventative/containment measure. We skipped that phase, while it spread, and did not do anything until the damage control phase. There's some other name for that. Anyway, we'll be in damage control for a long time and reducing cases to containment procedures being effective is unlikely with lockdowns ending. We're at step 2 and going to step 3 having skipped step 1 and lost sight of it.

They will take credit and pat themselves on the back, claiming mitigation efforts worked, but they cannot establish cause and effect. Repeating falsehoods does not make them become true.

Your sense of direction is messed up. maybe your mask is too tight. You probably don't see the irony is doing a couple of school cheers for Cuomo before accusing me of being partisan. The left seems oblivious to reality lately.

Anybody can look at exactly the same data that Cuomo was looking at, and make exactly the same projections. If the math eludes you, the graphs show a pretty picture of what he was facing. The fact that there was simply no way to predict the impact that social distancing; greater hygiene; wearing masks; and closing businesses would have on those projections is more than comprehensible - if a person has any comprehension. OR, if a person is just obtuse, or intellectually dishonest, they might conclude that Cuomo failed.

Cuomo will never have to run from the things he has said.
Trump, on the other hand, will never be able to outrun from the things he has said - and he continues to every day. His idiocies will be echoing in everyone's ears for the rest of our lives.

What have you been reading? Deaths per million persons: NY -1,512. Spain-580. Italy - 544. (Worldometer)

Cuomo has killed almost 3 times as many people as Spain or Italy on a per capita basis. He as killed more people than Spain! Why in the world do you think differently?

If you say mitigation efforts didn't work, which you plainly do, how do you account for NY declining numbers while the rest of the country is not. Numbers are growing for the rest of the country. Why is that? And why are NY numbers shrinking? Magic? Wishful thinking?

Because NY has killed more people than Spain? Only so many victims in the state... Italy's numbers are declining too, would anyone hold them as an example of how to handle this crisis?

More than 40,000 died in Spain and Italy with far fewer infected than New York, which has had 23,000 dead. You better go read your numbers again, M M.

On my mobile browser nothing comes up. Do you even know the name of the Organization that is feeding you results? Do they have a website or any data links? Did you literally pull the first picture from a Bing search and post it? If you are unable to link anything more substantial than a Bing search, what is anyone to do? Perhaps you could link me a Facebook post, or a deleted YouTube video. My stars.

If you're using the John Hopkins map, that could explain why it is several days behind. Trying to imagine what you are seeing on your screen is difficult, especially since it doesn't track Worldometer, or the CDC.

But assuming your magically invisible stats are correct, that would put NY at 23k with a population of 19.4 million, and Spain at 27k deaths with a population of 47 million.

If you have trouble with the math, let me know. But if you do it right, it'll show that Cuomo has killed 2X as many people per unit population as Spain. Plus the ones he poisoned with Hydroxychloroquine. He's a regular grim reaper compared to any other state, and pretty much any other country.
