"You're stupid" is one easy way to reply without thinking. Another is to call me a conspiracy theorist. People are not interested in trying to be logical -- it makes the brain tired.

Democrats like having Trump as a scapegoat. Assuming if the same pandemic happened under Obama nobody would have died.

I am not interested in defending Trump, and he creates as much of the stupid partisan divisiveness as anyone. But he has been a victim of irrational hatred from Democrats and their MSM.

Unfortunately, one must look hard for a dialogue that makes sense whenever the Trump-haters start monopolizing any thread.
Why do so many people take to these threads to vent their spleen?
They should be taking the opportunity to get outside, walk, jog, listen to good music.
Instead they come to these forums just to vent their hatred of someone they will never meet.
That is a little insane because it means nothing. Who wants to live in an echo chamber of hate on a daily basis.?

Yeah, wow, I guess America couldn't handle this all the way around. So many countries had plans, did a great job when faced with uncertainty.

We look terrible from a world view. I thought we might struggle a bit but we didn't just drop the ball, we are actively throwing the ball. Making the ball a political toy, and dividing people with it. I guess the time has finally come when we can't unite during a crisis. That is a bad sign of things to come.

Third world America? The Fall of America? How many titles are you willing to see before people realize the results of this? You won't like it, just look to the south and see how it appeals to you. Is this really what America is fighting for? Gross.

The Trump haters don't care about per capita numbers.
They see 100,000 and immediately they think this country is the worst because it has the highest numbers.
No thought is given to the faulty reporting by China or Russia or even Brazil that is now in the throes of an epic pandemic.
I have never seen so many deranged Americans wish the president to fail as we are going through the worst crisis that anyone today has lived through.

You must not have been paying attention. Governor’s have asked for Federal help on testing many times. Unfortunately, Trump believes testing makes our numbers look bad and thus him look bad and he never used his power to mobilize industry and the Federal Government to help the states. Instead he dragged his feet on testing. He doesn’t understand or doesn’t care that testing, quarantine and contact tracing reduces actual cases and saves lives. Obviously, you have never heard of the defense production act if you think it is ridiculous. What is wrong with you?

The tests worldwide have been prone to providing false results. In the US, EACH STATE regulates its own healthcare system. EACH STATE REGULATES ITS OWN HEALTHCARE. That said, the quality of testing is being improved.

Each state has different testing facilities, different tests in use, different capabilities and different communication systems within their own medical/governmental communities.

Dr. Birx headed the task force that mapped for the governors the testing facilities and their capabilities so they could be utilized by each governor within their own state to assist.

Your ignorance in this is embarrassing. You are blaming the President for not doing a job that he is prevented by law from doing.

What's wrong with you guys?

The hodgepodge you describe is a direct result of inaction at the Federal level. The states wanted more help from the federal government. They did not get it. Trump basically wanted no responsibility for testing and told the states it was their problem.
The Federal Government has resources and capabilities that would have benefited the states but instead of using them to the fullest, Trump was a roadblock.

I agree that Dumb Donald has the blood of tens of thousands of Americans on his hands because, despite multiple warnings from different people in his administration that this could decimate our country, he did nothing in late Feb/early March to prepare for this. There are now TWO studies that show how many lives could have been saved had mitigation been initiated two weeks earlier. He will, unfortunately, never go to trial, but if Biden wins in Nov and the democrats take the senate as well, you can bet that there will be an investigation of the Donkey of Pennsylvania Avenue that includes witnesses that he will be unable to prevent from testifying. The American people deserve to know who knew what and when.

Merkel was more sloppy than Trump. I had taken note of the suspension of flights from China to the US. Germany was allowed to have everything flowing into it.
In addition, there was a long debate in Germany about whether to wear masks, and this only became obligatory after months. Everything was a huge sloppiness. The following measures cost a lot of money. Because the politicians were sloppy before.
In Germany now money is being wasted to appease the citizens.
In the future the bill will come.

You're right. Some anti-Trumpers like coming here because they just don't get enough opportunities to vent their spleens at someone they will never understand (or vote for) in their lifetimes. And they just can't understand how the gods that direct every one of us to do everything that is right would allow someone to defeat an anointed (by Obama) queen of the United States.
Others, who are genuinely interested in understanding the current political climate come here to get a reading on who is going to win the election in November. That, of course, is a very broad challenge because the people in these forums represent small segments of the voting population. But one needs to go somewhere to see how people think about the two candidates which many of us wish we did not have. Just like four years ago.
But, like Reagan once said: "you dance with the one that brung ya".
Some are tied to Trump and some are tied to the other old guy; and some will just stay away and not watch the dance.

With Trump as the universal scapegoat, the pure-hearted Democrats never have to think about:
Comey, Brennan, Clapper, illegal FISA warrants, Strzok, Paige, Schiff, Nadler, Feinstein&Blasey Ford, 'no collusion' Meuller, or phony impeachment trials.
It is so easy to blame Trump that now every police car set on fire in every city can be tied back (somehow) to what Trump did or said. Makes it easier for Democrats to vote for ABT (anybody but trump).
