Mass murderer

Promoting Hydroxychloroquine when he is not a doctor and contradicting other Federal Government Agencies. Tweeting "Liberate" while at THE SAME TIME issuing stay at home guidance. Saying everyone can get a test if they want one when its not true. Having the Federal Gov. compete with states for PPE. We need a unified strong leader and what we got was "it not my responsibility". Did you see Georgia and their release of public stats? What a joke, misleading to maintain opening up was not a mistake. Press conferences turned into campaign rally's. The guy is utterly feckless.

The countries that have done well are the ones that followed the science. Germany did well but of course their leader actually IS a scientist. South Korea did very, very well by following the science early on. They also did less damage to their economies. We did poorly because our leader has not only failed to get behind the scientists and push government and private industry like South Korea did instead he has often actively tried to work against the scientists.

Right now we may look like we have done “relatively well” compared to the worst of the European governments but that ignores the fact that we still have more than 1.1 million active cases and many of those will die while the European countries have a much smaller percentage of active cases and thus far fewer deaths yet to come. We are also still adding new cases at 20k a day. None of the European countries are anywhere near that on a population adjusted basis. Bottom line is that we are not as bad off as the worst but we are on track to catch up with them.

When did the US sink so low as to claim we are doing well when our performance compares to the worst in the world? American exceptionalism is supposed to mean exceptionally good not exceptionally bad.

You simply haven't been on the forum long enough to understand that EVERYTHING is Trump's fault. If you sleep through your alarm clock some morning that's Trump's fault. Just the way it is around here these past three years.

We are a ****hole today, with COVID numbers worse than Brazil, Russian and Spain thanks to Trump. That’s a fact. I know facts hurt the Right. So denial is expected.

Just indict Trump for all coronaviruses that have spread around the world in the last 3 or more years. Big bad orange man, lock him up, lock him up! In all seriousness, this particular virus has been around for quite a few years, patient zero was none other than Hillary Clinton.

You have not provided any evidence for anything you said. The advanced western countries seem worse because of more testing and more incoming travel. And lack of totalitarian dictatorships. Of all the western countries, we are far from the worst.

What is it that you are imagining that the President should have done or should have refrained from doing that would change anything in the real world with regard to the virus, the response or the research?

I applaud your truth in advertising as your screen name seems to be descriptively quite accurate. ;)

Sorry but I assumed that that people would have at least some idea of how different countries compare. Our population adjusted death rate is 60 times greater than South Korea’s and 3 times that of Germany. Our death rate is still below that of a handful of Western Democracies but most of those have a far lower percentage of people still infected than we do (which will lead to more deaths for us) and a far lower percentage of new cases per day. Bottom line is that we have many more deaths to come vs the other western democracies. Study the worldometer data and you will see that we are not doing well.

Why is whether a country is located in the West or East even relevant? Just picking the worst countries to compare us to then saying we are doing good doesn’t make any sense. South Korea is a democracy, so much so that they actually impeached and REMOVED their president not long ago.

Also, using more testing as a reason for western democracies not doing well makes no sense. Testing if you follow it up with quarantine and contact tracing does not kill people, it SAVES lives as the countries that are actually successful have proven.

By the way YOU have provided no evidence for anything you have said.

What should he have done? The successful countries like Germany and South Korea started aggressive testing, quarantine and contact tracing early. That saves lives. They mobilized their government and industries to get the job done. Very simply they followed the science. Because he is president Trump has the power to mobilize our country in ways no one else can but he has been against more testing because he feels it would increase the case count and make him look bad. He either doesn’t understand or doesn’t care that testing with quarantine and contact tracing saves lives and reduces ACTUAL cases.
