We can reopen without too much increase in disease IF everyone wears the mask. It's that simple.

What is wrong with people?

Why would someone not wear it? How ignorant can they be?

The mask doesn't work by itself. Saying it does will create a false sense of security.

The 6' rule has to remain in place, along with other precautions.

Prior to the outbreak I didn't notice one's propensity to get in your face to have a normal conversation. Nowadays I'm like, "**** dude, I can hear you over there. Stand back a few more steps."

FFS, it is about more than masks. (This, right here, is why we cannot have nice things.)

Of course it does not work by itself but if you want to open....

Yet the toothless refuse to wear it or distance.
Neanderthal retards with guns.

This should be a lesson learned for you people, but we all know it won't.

For the Leftists it's about "do WTF you're told to do".

People like noonereal are setting their hair on fire because the American people aren't being obedient.

The lockdowns are no long about prevention. They're about punishing a disobedient citizenry.

Okay, drive without a seat belt next time. Use your argument about being a "disobedient citizen" instead of a rational human being living with some protections when you are pulled over.

I agree...but it depends on what kind of mask you are wearing. If everyone wore an N95 mask, yes, there would be a lot fewer infections. Unfortunately, those are hard to get. Plain cotton T-shirt masks are not nearly as effective. I read that a good way to tell how effective a mask will be is to see if you can see light coming through it. If you can, don't bother. Its not tightly woven enough.

The fact that seatbelt laws exist proves my point.

That's just not true .. a contaminated N95 mask will spread the virus just as quickly. The personal protection equipment is only as effective as the personal hygiene and disposal practices of the individual wearing them. Will it lower the risk of a cough and/or speaking from spreading the disease .. probably .. but as soon as the individual touches the mask and then common locations such as grocery store racks, goods, cash and credit cards .. it's only providing a false sense of security.

That's all it is.

I guess I meant an N95 mask that is being used properly. Once its on you are not supposed to touch it, and when you remove it you do so by the straps. It also has to be fitted properly. I heard that first responders have a lower risk of infection than the general public, and thats because of their PPE, a big part of which is the N95 mask.
