What to do about Florida?

I know Florida's cheating with their corona numbers. We know Republicans can't succeed at anything without cheating. Something has to be done to dig deep into Florida's counting. We also need to be highly suspicious of Deborah Birx who has praised the quality of Florida's data.

Any ideas?

What do we do about Florida?

What we usually do, sit back and watch them **** this up just as they tend to **** up elections.

Good Christ, EVERYBODY is cheating with the numbers. Numerous physicians and other healthcare workers have become whistleblowers regarding the rigged numbers and the financial incentives for hospitals to rig the numbers. You Tube and FB have censored many of those whistleblowers, demonstrating that somebody is afraid of what the whistleblowers say.

Here in my part of FL, I know 30+ people who likely had the infection in January through March, and nobody was hospitalized and I still am not aware of one who has died from it.

I acknowledge that certainly some have died from it, but I just don't know anybody who died from it.

I would not put it past any government to fudge numbers, that's what bureaucrats do. Indignance regarding FL is purely political.

facts state otherwise.

florida is doing pretty well and the number of cases and deaths is well below what was predicted.
FLorida Gov has a plan to re-open and has been re-opening the state little by little based on
actual data and not the emotional reaction that other people have.

So far it is working very well.

Just change the numbers to whatever makes you feel better about it. How many deaths in Florida would make you happy?
 
We could celebrate their relatively low numbers, encourage continued safe practices and assist them as a state in the event that assistance is needed in the future?

That's my vote.
 
Statistical models will reconcile the likes of a Florida in final counts of cases, deaths, etc., using such factors as excess deaths and other data points. If there are particular states where people are skeptical of the numbers, that's one way of determining if those numbers are likely inaccurate or not. If there are an unusually high number of excess deaths, that should be mostly attributed to SARS-CoV-19. If there are unusually high number of excess death in another category that cannot be explained but could as likely be a SARS death, then some number of those excess deaths might be recategorized as SARS.

I am still subscribed to the newspaper from where we used to live. Every day this week they reported about 5 new cases a day. Not sure how they could hide what can easily be fact checked, if someone wants to take the time. Not sure to what purpose other than riding another partisan horse.

So far New York is the only place I have seen caught padding their numbers and they had the audacity to do it in broad daylight. Whatever you want to do to Florida, you should want to double do to New York.

What needs to happen is we need to look at what the projected numbers were and compare those projections with the "official" numbers being reported by the state. We can then determine how many cases Florida is "short". Once we have this figure, the state should then be "seeded" with additional coronavirus to ensure that enough people catch the disease to make up the difference.

As far a Deborah Birx goes? She obviously needs to be re-educated. I believe we need to set up some sort of facility dedicated to this purpose where we can send all of the Deborah Brixes of the world. She and all of the other "wrong thinking" people out there just can't be allowed to roam freely among us.

Why? They're doing the rest of us a huge favor because there is a chance that they're actually right. They're acting as lab rats. If/when the morgues fill up and their economies crater we'll know we were right.. that was a terrible idea. If their morgues don't' fill up and their economies start to rebound then we'll know and can safely reopen at the small cost of a week or two. The most likely scenario is that there's no economic rebound because most people don't enjoy being volunteered to be lab rats while the irresponsible behavior of the cultists leads to more death and illness. And most rational people would say that the risk isn't worth the reward, especially since you just have to wait for someone dumber to run the experiment for you.

This is hard. Governors that bow to short term political pressure are like parents that give into a screaming petulant child. It's bad because it will hurt both them and their brat of a child in the long run. But much like bad parenting, you can't really do much about it.

For what purpose would the government want to make Covid seem worse than it is? For what purpose would they want to crash our economic system. Costing themselves billions of dollars. Putting their political careers at stake.

Please let me know why the government would do that. What do they have to gain?

TROLL. The democrat governors are doing a terrible job, look at the numbers. People will rebel, it's happening and the rebellion is growing and poor old Sleepy Joe is going to get embarrassed in November.

I see an accusation. Is there any proof?

And I think it’s safer to claim many, not all but many, politicians cheat. It’s not something either Republicans or Democrats have cornered the market on.

Meanwhile in NY you will never get the real numbers of the elderly that died due to Cuomo’s orders. If an elderly resident of a nursing home did manage to make it to a hospital in the last hours of life that death isn’t attributed to the shameful tally of bodies in those facilities.

For anyone wondering what single payer or universal triaged healthcare would be like under liberal democrats, there’s your sign.

Without insurance they would just die on the street or at home which is a much better option right
