Baltimore pastor rips up cease-and-desist letter mid-sermon: 'We're gonna do it God's way!'

Billions of religious people on the planet and only a speck of them have gotten sick... seems your statement is kinda stupid, actually.

how do you account for God screwing the 'speck'?

Baltimore pastor rips up cease-and-desist letter mid-sermon: 'We're gonna do it God's way!'

A Baltimore pastor tore up a cease-and-desist letter mid-sermon Wednesday night after local officials threatened a $5,000 fine earlier in the week for holding in-person services.
Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan announced last Friday that houses of worship could reopen at 50 percent capacity, citing declining hospitalizations related to the coronavirus pandemic. He left the timing up to local jurisdictions. The state has had more than 41,000 confirmed coronavirus cases and at least 2,081 deaths.

Stacey Shiflett, pastor of the 400-member Calvary Baptist Church in Dundalk, held a Wednesday night service. With more than 100 congregants in the 600-capacity sanctuary, Calvary was in compliance with Hogan's order but in defiance of the Baltimore County Department of Health and Human Services' order.

Again, the collective ignorance of conservatives defies critical thinking. There should have been a lesson learned from the church that just reopened live services and several members contracted the virus and they shut it down again just 3 days later.

Covid-19 says, 'Bring it on'.

Since this is all just guess work, not really. No one knows whether it was a deity preventing infections or other variables. If it helps you sleep better at night knowing it was a deity, go for it.

Your point is that Christians should hold services in WalMart, liquor and pot shops because there people can gather by the dozens and hundreds, totally immune from covid-19. You complaint is where Christians meet, not that the gather together, correct?

how am i not following my values?
You condemn Christians gathering together in churches, while silent about vastly more people gathering in WalMart, Lowes, Home Depot, grocery stores, liquor stores, pot shops and other locations - even hundreds together. That is your hypocrisy - and bigotry against Christians. Anything bought in a WalMart, Lowes, Home Depot, Office Max, grocery stores, pot shops and liquor stores all can be business done online and by delivery. Or prove me wrong. Post to your condemning those other locations where people gather together for in-person consumerism - the the true secular religion of the USA. Materialism and consumerism is the 24/7 sermon of the MSM and the "religion" of most Americans. They do not worship any super natural god. They worship the mega billionaire gods of Chinese slave labor products and materialism. NO ONE condemns those billionaire man-gods having their churches of materialism hold daily - all day - mass gatherings of people, do they? Nor do you.Since YOUR religion is secular materialism, shutting down your churches of consumerism is unthinkable to you. Being able to physically shop for what you could buy online and have delivered is essential worship to you, isn't it?

they should hold services in such a way as to prevent crowding, sitting close together, singing and shouting in each other's faces. I'm sure they can be creative.

as far as I know, people are wearing masks and social distancing in these stores. If churches can do this, fine.
If the stores aren't taking precautions, I am against them too. No hypocrisy. Just everyone keeping others safe.

In this case it's Christians because the topic is about a pastor in Baltimore, but should apply to religious gatherings of any faith. I don't frequent liquor, pot shops, or Walmart so I have no anecdotal information. I do know that Walmart has a face covering/social distancing policy in its stores, but don't know how well it is enforced across its locations.

To most progressives, Sam Walton is a god, protecting WalMart customers who gather to worship in his church of Chinese sweat shop slave products consumerism, but the Christian God doesn't protect anyone at his churches, which are anti-materialism. To progressives, materialism and consumerism is their god and religion.

No, read this forum. Even as a general topic about churches, they ALL specify Christians and only Christians.

The outlawing of churches included if they wear masks and do social distancing. That is not even relevant. It is the specific outlawing of church gatherings, while allowing vastly greater gatherings is selective stores, while outlawing other stores. Simply, the government is deciding who they want to destroy and who they will favor - for EXACTLY the same covid-19 risks.

This has never been about covid-19. It has always been about money and power - who the government shifts the money and power from and to. Against churches to consumerism. Against merchant class businesses to the mega billionaire corporations.

Personally, I think there needs to be guidelines specific to places of worship so they can plan for services accordingly. The gatherings in stores, from a policy perspective, are already defined; that is not the case for places of worship. So far you only have your opinion since you've presented nothing to support the idea the government is deciding who they want to destroy and who they will favor.

This has never been about covid-19. It has always been about money and power - who the government shifts the money and power from and to. Against churches to consumerism. Against merchant class businesses to the mega billionaire corporations.

Your citations to support this are....?

I already answered this in post 111

I already answered this in post 111

No, you didn't answer it at all and the assertion of your point is 100% false. Absolute so. Church attendance outlawed has NOTHING to do with masks and social distancing.

Only completely subservient chumps who see TV actors on the MSM as if gods of total control of them having known from the start this is all a massive con-job by the super rich and powerful.

It has been absurd from the very start to declare it is entirely legal for hundreds of people to congregate in all departments of WalMart stores - while outlawing all low traffic stores selling the same non-essential merchandise.

Only totally gullible mindless chumps accept the claim that is safe for people to park at and be in liquor stores and pot shops, while people even parking in a church parking lot is outlawed.

Absolutely NONE of that has to do with masks and social distancing. It is singularly about what businesses and organizations the super rich and powerful want to destroy - small merchant class businesses and Christian churches - to take all their wealth and power to themselves. It is singularly about promoting the secular religion of the richest people on earth: greed, materialism and consumerism - foremost of non-white foreign slave labor products in factories they own, just like the own all of the MSM, press and Internet.

There has NEVER been any legitimacy of the rules concerning covid-19. What rules there are specifically are to SPREAD covid-19, not contain to contain it. None of the rules about which businesses and facilities are open or outlawed has ever had anything to do with masks or social distancing.

You hit the nail on the head. Money over God, money over the lives of humans.

To be fair we all do it..

We could all drive 35 mph and save 25,000 traffic deaths a year, but we do not..

I find it ridiculous because it is totally unnecessary. No one is gonna die if they miss church... the church might die due to bankruptcy though.

For 2 months now, not one progressive Democrat even pretends they can explain their theory that if everyone is wearing a mask and social distancing you are safe in a WalMart store with 2oo in it and a thousand customers a day - but will be infected if you are in a mom-pop store selling the same type products or in a church.

Simply, progressives want anyone and anything the hate outlawed - which are middle class merchants and Christian churches - while furious declaring the exact opposite for who they want to promote - which are the businesses of the richest people on earth and on behalf of their secular religious belief in Chinese non-white sweatshops and consumerism.

Democrats love non-white slave labor products now more than when they could own slaves directly. Who they MOST hate are Christians and this is their backdoor way around the Bill Of Rights.

Could it be that church’s don’t really preform a tangible value while all those stores and construction crews do???

No one is gonna die because they do church from you tube..

The reason for the push back is the churches are afraid they go broke.. a valid fear..

But just like sports, church is a luxury, not an essential.

That is the singular reason churches have been outlawed by secular government with unique rules specifically against churches - and enforced singularly against Christian churches only. This is the way secular atheist progressives hope to destroy as many Christian churches as possible. It has absolutely nothing to do with public health because the LOVE, LOVE, LOVE people packed into WalMart and Target stores hundreds at a time.

Ps

If the democrats are the party of slavery/the confederacy , then why is it only conservatives flying confederate flags and every admitted KKK member is a proud conservative Republican???

Do you even believe your own nonsense or are you just parroting what TPTB tell you to??

How stupid would someone have to be to believe someone flying a confederate flag that their political opponents are “the real racists!”

BWAHAHAHAHA

I mean talk about propaganda for stupid people.

That is how most progressives see all rights. None are essential and therefore no one has any - other that what the government allows. You recited the standards of corporate-fascism perfectly, which is exactly what progressivism is.

No one has to shop at WalMart either, but hell would freeze over before most progressives would allow the WalMart heirs at over $100 billion in wealth to lose $1. CONSUMERISM is the religion of progressivism and FASCISM is their desires system of government. To progressives, the only rights people have are to buy non-white foreign slave labor products sold by the richest people on earth. Otherwise, no one has any individual, human or civil rights of any kind - other than those allowed by the government and only those people the government allows those rights too.

Progressivism is Nazism. Anyone they hate must be destroyed. Like Nazis hated Jews and destroyed their businesses, progressives hate Christians and middle class merchants, do demand their businesses be destroyed and Christian outlawed from being together. 500 people can legally gather in a WalMart store to practice the religion of the super rich - consumerism - but it is illegal for 15 Christians to gather together.

The corporate fascism of progressivism is transparent and obvious to anyone who isn't a total mindless cult worshiper of the secular religion of the super rich and consumerism.
