Great. Does your "free state" have no licensing requirements for any business?

You could always stop being a hypocrite and admit that every state has business licensing laws, and that business licenses doesn't meant the government "owns" or "controls" that business. But that would require intellectual honesty, something that someone who thinks the government anti-pandemic procedures are a "trial run at communism" likely doesn't have.

Is the NYSE socialist then? If NY is socialist than I guess there is no such thing as capitalism.
 
Another post that defines socialism as "government policies I disagree with" making the term meaningless.
 
Expect to hear a lot about socialism between now and November, from republicans benefiting from socialism, hoping the public thinks of Stalin and not FDR when it hears the word.. Expect to hear little about the not-quite-socialist-but-close-enough-to-hate-anyway ACA, assuming there’s no blockbuster court ruling banning it. The GOP often likes to take advantage of people like the woman fighting Obamacare years ago who supposedly said “keep your government hands off my Medicare.” Applied in a different context, it might go something like:

Hitler suggested the autobahn.
Eisenhower suggested the Interstate.
Therefore, Ike was a Nazi.

My socialism good, yours bad. People were talking about “creeping socialism” since I was a kid in the 1950s. Then came more socialism. But like gay sex, socialism is the evil “that dare not speak its name.” So we have added dollops of socialism to our economy for many decades without calling it such.

Those are government regulations with the force of law created by Trump's Executive Branch. But Trump is a socialist who hates freedom I guess.

Which almost all of them are as part of the legislation that authorizes the Executive agency and establishes its authority.
 
This is just weird... I was just having a debate with another conservative on another thread who was saying lockdown was unnecessary and an attempt by socialists to control us, and now you're saying the socialists are being irresponsible and causing more coronavirus deaths?
