All of America is partially reopen (sic) today.

I hope that this doesn't result in a spike. I don't want to see even COVIDiot morons get sick.

It's good to see nobody is emotional about it.

Texas has been reopening is stages for 3 weeks now, and no real spike as of yet.

We are still in the stage where the more testing we do, the more positives we will find,
but so far so good.
Most people are being good about social distancing, and wearing masks, but not everyone.

Now for the harder part. Adjusting to life in a bubble. [so to speak]

I doubt any of these precautions will ever go away.

The numbers will continue to creep up and up and up regardless. Part of the problem with chasing data like this is we have no way to track how many people are actively sick in our community even within the known cases.

Been happening for months. Idiots will idiot. 90k and counting.

Eventually herd immunity should kick in. Only a year or two of bubble life.

Since Texas reopened, the country has been going down overall in new cases as Texas continued UP. Texas reopened even though they did not qualify by CDC guidelines for reopening. Google and Wikipedia are, themselves, not valid sources of coronavirus count and they cited no source. The CDC is. Their counts are diff than the count you show. CDC shows Texas case count rising each day from May 16 through May 19. Your source doesn’t. "No real spike" is a meaningless claim when the count continues to rise as it always has been. Zero improvement.

It should have. Dallas county had its highest daily death toll Yesturday and the Governor's rely is we'll be fine. The sad note is that the current is not really related to reopening, because that just started 3 weeks ago here in Texas, meaning as more and people get out and about, the bars are opening this week along with gyms and tattoo parlors, those numbers won't do anything except clime higher.
Count on this, no matter how many people get infected and die the States will not return to lockdown, most have shown what is most important to them.
One last note: while the people in countries in Europe and Asia have complied with the rules the government set in place to reduce the spread of the killer virus, we as Americans started whining before we had gone a couple of weeks. This is a sad commentary on the current Mental Toughness of our population.

I guess perhaps one has to view a country's choices within some context; if the people of America choose to reopen and put themselves at risk, knowing the dangers and choosing to accept those risks for more freedom, are they really wrong? That's the nice part about democracy.

What I'm following is the impact of these spikes on the healthcare system because it's what we've all been trying to keep from being overwhelmed; that and the mortality rate. If both are manageable, then I suspect things will continue to rebound. I worry less about places which don't have high population densities because the options to social distance are more available; it's cities like New York where it's more of a concern.

We have no idea of the actual infection rate, and the number of positive tests at this stage are simply a reflection
of increased testing.
Harris County, has a good page that shows the new cases by day.
2019 Novel Coronavirus
Instead of a selective 3 day window, let's show Harris County new cases per day since the opening on May 4.
No small wonder why whoever picked May 16 to May 19 choose those dates.
Generally the amount of new cases is falling, Harris county has the largest population in Texas, and would be a reasonable representation of the rest of the state,
unless you have a citation showing otherwise.

Of course, texas hit it's biggest spike in new cases 2 days after reopenming partially, and spiking in the meat packing plants.

Documentation, what source was used to make this statement?

Look, I have said this before but will reap it again: I am not against reopening where it is safe to do so with precautions taken. It is the blanket opens if a State which not only covers low infection areas but also areas that have lots of infections and the death toll is still running at full steam. That is ludicrous.
Freedom is a great thing, but it also has limitations, such as when your Freedom results in the suffering or death of others.

Your opinion is noted. It seems the United States of America disagree with your opinion. That's ok. People are allowed to disagree.

Actually Most of America agree with me, every poll taken shows that fact. Being a Squeeky wheel does not mean the other three wheels agree with your noise.

If people don't act like idiots it could be ok.
