It appears that the Trump administration is moving with rapidity under the cover of the COVID crisis to dismantle, disrupt, destroy and diminish the functionality of government, and expedite unpopular policies that would otherwise raise huge alarms, and to hamstring his successor. After all, it is hard to organize protests when public gatherings are prohibited.

, instead Trump fires State Department watchdog - late on Friday, without justification, at the urging of the target of the probe ("A senior State Department official confirmed that Pompeo made the recommendation that Linick be removed, but the official did not know the reasons why." Politico). But, he's not the first - it is the fourth firing of such an independent watchdog in recent weeks. Trump Declares War on Watchdogs - Michael Atkinson (Intelligence), Glenn Fine (Defense), Christi Grimm (HHS) - publicly attacking the inspector general's office over a report on hospitals facing supply shortages. The president and his team sure do love Friday night news dumps, don't they?
He's doing immigration - Trump's attacks on the legal immigration system explained - (Note: LEGAL immigration); The US has abandoned asylum seekers in Mexico during the pandemic. He's doing it against green energy - Trump administration slaps solar, wind operators with retroactive rent bills - and enviromental protection - Trump dismantles environmental protections under cover of coronavirus. He's attacking voting. He's attacking education. Is there anything he won't kill?
