Trump cut funding for a virus research program that his administration approved of months before

The value of the research is paramount into gaining understanding of how the virus works, data of which could benefit the manufacture of vaccines, therapeutic medicine, etc

The reason he cut funding is due to lies from Sen. Matt Gaetz and Sen Ted Cruz

I don't think you realize the gravity of this blunder. Well, you're going to find out.

60 minutes episode is 100% accurate. This show has won over 100 emmys, 20 peabodies, and is longest running show of it's kind on TV.

How convenient of them to declare that is the reason for cutting funding on one of the most important studies in the last couple of years, which Trump admin approved of, which was considered in the top 3% of research priorities.


Not only is that the most impotent argument I've seen in a long time, it's so egregiously lame I don't even know where to begin.

so, someone hires you, and the job, if you are successful, will save thousands of lives, but there is a narrative being floated that your work product contradicts the presidents lies, and the president team fires you, because "it's not within the scope of the president's priorities.....?

Of course its not within the scope, because the work product is going to make the president's lies be exposed.

Nothing says this specific study was "one of the most important studies in the last couple of years". And as it was de-funded it likely wasn't.
For all you know, all the other research being conducted renders this specific line of study useless, redundant, or simply not needed becasue, as you already know, "it doesn't fit within the scope of NIH's priorities right now".

So a person getting their panties all bunched up in wad over this is absurd, and their complainrts akin to claiming the "sky is falling".
