Pence flouts Mayo Clinic policy on masks -- which is to wear one

They told him the policy. When he decided that it didn't apply to him, they decided not to cause an incident by blocking him from the facility. Everyone else was in a mask and they let him proceed.

But that doesn't change the reality that it was a stated requirement that he was informed of and he decided unilaterally did not apply to him.

He met the policy a different way. When your husband had the vasectomy, did you still demand that he wear a condom so you wouldn't get pregnant?

They absolutely had the authority, No question hands down, period, full stop. Just think if decided to go into the operating room dressed like that to observe an open heart surgery. You think they would have said "Go right ahead Mr. Vice President, be our guest."

It wasnt an operating room. Why are you using something not even involved?

Your statement is an assumption and I'm pretty sure the WH administration could pull all sorts of legal crap out of their pockets for their demands. But it wouldnt come to that, for the other reason I mentioned...and that you ignored.

They made a compromise between endangering their supplies of medical and other resources and endangering people. A dangerous compromise forced on them by a vain, ignorant, sycophantic bureaucrat.

This is the barely coherent and grammatically inept speech of a man who desperately wants to be able to claim that he "cured coronavirus."

That's it, in a nutshell. When we do get a handle on this crisis, he wants to be able to pull out footage and declare "I called it! I said use this! I said try this! I told them to do this, it was my idea!" He's just doing it with lots of stupid stuff because he doesnt want to miss an opportunity. He's afraid 'the big one' will be mentioned and he wont get credit for it.

It's all about declaring himself the savior of the cv crisis and we'll hear all about it, esp in his campaign. (Which is basically each of his press briefings these days) --- Lursa

Yes, they did have the authority. But they decided to humor the selfish asshole because they deemed it not to be too great a risk and not worth the trouble that banning him would bring to them.

Wouldn't it be great if the Mayo Clinic found themselves surrounded by Trump cultists spreading their germs on the medical staff entering the building.

The clinic decided not to take the step which would have brought that about.

There is NO legitimate defense for Pence deciding that the stated rules did not apply to him. But keep trying. Keep showing us why the examples that Pence and Trump set are so dangerous to the rest of us. They need to be setting the example of rule following and health promoting. Instead they're going with, "We do whatever we want and encourage our followers to do the same, no matter who gets hurt."

That.

Guidelines are for suckers. Trumpers know masks are bs.

Who cares about saving lives when there are tough guy photo-ops to be had!

The astroturfing groups that started the stay-at-home protests are all getting sick a week after their events. Just like the 'church'goers who attended the events that the pastors set up. If Pence doesn't have corona now, he will get it within the month. Especially if he goes and visits more hospitals.

He’s on his way back to the bubble now.

I wonder if Trump is going to let him near him?

He met the policy a different way.

Yes. He ignored it. That's a different way, though not meeting.

Wtf. Going after a member like that is some sick crap. That psychotic garbage is based in male victim complex.

?? I haven't done any snark on you. I only give it back to those who dish it out. If you have been snarky, you have to up your game, becasue I'm not feeling it.

It wasnt about me. It was just in general.

So testing is useless, huh?

And enough people have demonstrated by now that your drive-by was a failure.

He didn't meet the policy at all.

And don't talk about my husband, not even your imaginary version of my husband.

It wasnt an operating room. Why are you using something not even involved?

To help you understand there are different levels of risk in a hospital and different levels of protection required to mitigate those risks. The VP was visiting a floor and the level of risk on that floor was mitigated by his testing for the virus.

Sorry, how about I don't talk to you at all, that might be better, deal?

You don't think the head of the Mayo Clinic gets tested too?

That doesn't mean he's not contagious any given day. What good is a test after multiple exposures?

And that's why everyone else was wearing masks and the policy was still to wear a mask? (None of those other medical professionals is tested regularly????)

LOL did you think about that before you posted it? :doh

Wow. Simply, wow.

Your point was that his not wearing a mask "undermines that message to the rest of the proles" Maddow is clearly a leader in the progressive side and does not wear a mask while at her job. Same with Pelosi or Schumer when they are being interviewed. So it seems you only care sending the wrong message when the leader is a Republican.

BUT MOM!!! JOHNNY DID IT TOO!!! :boohoo:

How did that work out for you as a kid?

And it's also a personal choice. Some of the original thinking on wearing a mask is that you touch your face a lot more when you are wearing a mask, thus putting yourself more at risk. I agree with this completely. I absoltely touch my face more and therefore only wear the mask when absolutely necessary.

If you're in a hospital and the rules require a mask, it's not actually a personal choice. You will wear the mask or get your ass kicked out. That's the 'personal choice.' Pence pulled a, "I'm an elitist asshole - the rules do not apply to ME!" move.

That's a no-no for sure.

Perhaps he was afraid of having a Don Junior moment!

Wow. Simply, wow.

Your entire image of her husband, whom you've never met, is based in your own male victim complex. She "makes him" and "demands" while removing his control of his own sexual reproduction. You paint him as a victim from your own issues. On top of that, it's psycho to do that to a member.
