Wuhan Celebrates the End of Its Coronavirus Lockdown After 76 Long Days

I'm more interested in the numbers that come out of South Korea, Singapore, and Taiwan in regards to easing behavioral restrictions after the initial policies. Singapore has seen a surge after it eased restrictions, but they've managed the outbreak pretty well. Some Asian nations learned lessons after SARS, so both the government and its people were better prepared. Our experience with COVID 19 will hopefully do the same elsewhere so we're ready when the next virus rolls around.

Didn't say we were smart, just that we think for ourselves.

Allow idiots to think for themselves, and you get idiot conclusions...like, stack bodies into refrigerated trucks isn't a big deal.

Yeah, but we can't think for ourselves if half of our population simply follows along with obvious propaganda. The Chinese may be told what to think from on high, but a severe percentage of our own population cling to politically inspired propaganda for a world-view.

Trump and FOX News could declare Global Warming a hoax and that Obama is a Kenyan born Muslim and half of our population would probably simply accept it. Imagine if our country was that gullible and so susceptible to being told what to believe. Oh wait....

I really would love to see a link to your hyperbole that China had "400,00 fatalities because of the epidemic". That's not true at all, not even close.

The United States has topped 400,000 confirmed cases, not fatalities. Maybe you're confused as to which country had what?

Statistically, China has had 0.7% deaths in their population of more 1.386 billion people. That's less than 1 death per 100 cases. How Deadly Is The New Coronavirus? China Offers Some Intriguing Clues : Goats and Soda : NPR

China has had 81,802 confirmed cases, 3,333 deaths and 77,279 recovered. China Pushes for Quiet Burials as Coronavirus Death Toll Is Questioned - The New York Times

That's a far cry from your claim of "400,000 fatalities". The United States has the largest number of confirmed cases of coronavirus, with 398,000 infected.

Please stop hypeirinflating numbers when you have no facts to back it up, it makes you even less credible than before.

How many people died at Tiananmen Square?

Who really cares EMN? Is that pertinent to COVID-19? I doubt it.

The point is, you are taking information from a communist regime which has already told two confirmable lies about this epidemic, has disappeared whistleblowers, refuses to open up their bio lab to outside observation, has ejected reporters from the country and is blatantly starting propaganda blaming the US military for the virus, and believing it lock stock and barrel.

That number of 3000 dead is impossible.

Wuhan sits in a metro area with a population greater then Italy, much denser, and had this virus spreading for months, possibly as far back as November and you are insisting that 3000 number is accurate. That is mathematically impossible from what we know.

We also know police are threatening relatives of the deceased for posting about their relatives deaths, that crematoriums are recieving tens of thousands of urns a week. Etc.

This has all been reported. So the true number doesn’t matter, what does is the fact it is absolutely not 3,000 there is no way it’s that low.

The China epidemic response model:
1. Lie. Deny it exists. Deny it can transfer from person-to-person.
2. Arrest anyone who says otherwise. Force them to recant their claims.
3. Buy off or get incriminating pictures on the head of the WHO or whatever they did to get him to repeat their lies.
4. When the lies no longer work and the disease has spread globally, quarantine entire provinces. Board sick people up in their homes or forcibly drag them from their homes and transfer them to Covid leper colonies.
5. Expel all foreign journalists.
6. Lie some more. Underdeclare the numbers of sick and dead people by a factor of 5-10x. (This is easier to do once #5 is done.)
7. Make everyone wear masks (this one is actually a good idea!)
8. When the curve finally does flatten, relax the extraordinary restrictions and go back to the normal authoritarian restrictions.

Where is your source for the claim that China has had 400k people die from this virus?

Here's my point in a nutshell. China handled the virus much more effectively and efficiently only because of their politics. We, on the other hand, have been handling it half-assed from the start because of greed and capitalism. So yes, we should take a lesson from China if we want to avoid this many deaths and virus spreading.

Maybe they can come weld you into you home for 11 weeks. The Draconian enough for ya?

Yep Commies and their apologists can GFT.

What an America hating, idiot OP.

Liberals be so horny for prison state.

China *handling* the pandemic = Death pits & endless lies

Lol, no one with half a brain actually believes the data coming from China. The only thing the Chinese government cares about is protecting the communist party and amassing more wealth and power. They'd soon dispose of their own people using the military as they did during the Tienanmen Square Massacre during pro-democracy protests and calls for reform.

China has lied to the world and is responsible for this pandemic. For all we know China could have a million cases of the Wuhan pneumonia that are simply not being reported due it potentially causing economic harm to their country and hurt the image of the communist party. Regardless, they are too busy jailing anyone who tries to speak truthfully on the pandemic and during the early days of the outbreak tried to cover it up.

The US should absolutely not take the same approach China has. It's completely ignorant to suggest such a thing.

Jailing?

Test COVID-free?

Organs = Harvested

This is one of the most disgusting, dishonest and evil things I have ever read. But I did not expect you of all people to write it, HumblePi.

The Chinese government HID the information about the virus for months, cracked down on scientists and doctors who warned about the virus (and in some cases arrested them), let the virus spread for months to forestall any panic or disruption in their economy, and then continued to downplay and lie about the data right up until now.

So you want the United States government to emulate the Chinese government? Lie to its people non-stop, strip people of their civil liberties and become a single-party fascist police state, arrest doctors and scientists who begin issuing public warnings, and only start taking an outbreak seriously once videos of people collapsing and dying in the streets from walking pneumonia start being widely disseminated, and then forcibly locking down everyone in particular apartments and city blocks?

All the lessons China would teach us, when examined with a critical eye rather than fawning credulity, are the wrong things to do at every juncture.

Amen.

I've already been self-quarantined since the beginning of March, nothing to it.

Some good points.

But...

Asian cultures = Not US culture

Stop China-bashing!

Show me proof of 'death pits' in China. Please..... do that

I'm not sure you're party-mind enough for such high-level stuff...

But a clean lung or kidney - freely offered! - might change my mind.

China and other governments were busy buying medical gear while the GOP was busy putting out BS rhetoric . China seems to be the manufacturing source for medical supplies and hand sanitizers.....hmmmmm any possibility some of this could be contaminated?

Now the USA cannot get what it needs because the GOP failed to take care of business. The GOP has failed the USA.

Now corporate America will gouge the USA taxpayers for supplies IF we the USA can procure such. Corporate America knows their bought and paid for politicians will pay up no matter the expense because they always do.

Can anyone remember the $700 hammers for the defense department and the $600 a gallon gasoline for the never ending mideast war for worldwide oil control?

Flu pandemics occur annually so why did Trump and associates shut down the CDC and the purchasing of supplies? The USA must be last in line for supplies......

How did the GOP spend the money that typically is invested in the supply depot?

Nope, but there are always things to learn from those who successfully accomplish something. Even Italians, who are culturally a very social group of people, changed their behavior in order to address the threat they are facing.

Self quarantine and forced are entirely different. You're pretty naïve aren't you.

You're the naive one, nobody is under 'forced' quarantine and I never said a single word about 'forced' quarantine. Try thinking before you type some snotty comment next time. Just say it in your mind and if it sounds wrong to you, it probably is.

We were discussing China. And yes they were welded into their apartments. About as forced as it gets.
