In America, obviously toilet paper. My nominee for a substitute:

And if you're really in a pinch (after getting the bulk of the mess with napkins or tissues):

Even if you don't have piles, the witch-hazel in them is soothing to your, um... bum (to use the more genteel English word).

What else? Baby wipes, disposable diapers, paper towels, hand sanitizer....

Isn't this fun?
;)

The funny thing is I was curious if Costco had TP online...it allowed it in my cart....but asked if not available - choose a substitution. The only choice it gave me was a large box of printer paper. :lamo

Thank goodness I do not need TP, I got it from Amazon (my usual for cheap TP)right before the ship hit the fan.

Patients are dying because of a shortage of ventilators.

Doctors, nurses and hospital workers are getting sick, and in some cases dying, because of a shortage of personal protective equipment.

What part of that do you find amusing?

Sanity seems to be in desperately short supply if not entirely out of stock.

Obviously, no one finds that amusing. But he wasn't talking about ventilators. He was talking about the store suggesting a substitute of a large box of printer paper for toilet paper. THAT was amusing.

Common sense........society's been short for a long long time now

If there's truth to karma those toilet paper hoarders will be trying out recipes so they can eat it.

Recycling, using a solar clothes dryer, is the "green" solution:

Stay away from their lasagna...

If by chance you do end up with extra toilet paper, you can stuff it into envelopes to pay bills. Another novel use:
