For decades, Americans have rallied behind their president in time of crisis, so it’s no mystery that President Trump’s approval ratings are up. Except, that is, to anti-Trump obsessives — including much of the media.
“Who Are the Voters Behind Trump’s Higher Approval Rating?” a New York Times headline asked last week. That is: Who could possibly think he’s doing a good job — when no one at the Times does?

The paper notes that Trump’s positives, at 49 percent, are “as high as ever,” with independents and even some Democrats driving the numbers up. And that comes “despite what most agree to be his slow response” (“most,” again, meaning most at the Times) as well as his ideas that “contradict” experts and his outright “falsehoods.”

Memo to the Gray Lady: Those polls show that most Americans don’t think the president’s response has been horrific. (Didn’t the Times vow to pay more attention to middle America after the 2016 election?) They know the virus caught the entire world by surprise and is hugely difficult to tame. They appreciate his efforts to deal with it.

And a good chunk of them like his way of talking, even if it drives newspeople up the wall.

Good editorial from the staff of the The Post. They easily demonstrate the hypocrisy of the NY Times and their partisan ilk.
Business as usual for the Trump resisting clowncar known as the lamestream media heads.

IMO people with any sense of reality can see past the propaganda smoke-screen thrown up by the Main Stream Media, and their owners.

I mean every time Trump speaks at one of his daily pressers, most of the usual suspects emote, opine, and then try to catch him in a "gotcha" question.

Then they "argue" with him, interrupting his answers, attempting to deflect...and thinking they have scored a point if he snaps back.

But IMO common Joe Citizen knows they would not put up with this kind of stuff themselves. Hell, IMO most of the anti-Trump crew in this very Forum mimic those MSM talking heads.

Snapping back with every kind of fallacious response to demonize anyone who doesn't agree and to deflect to woulda, coulda, shoulda, or worse something completely irrelevant to the topic at hand.

IMO most Americans would want to see a unified front in the face of a common enemy, in this case the Covid-19 outbreak. They are dismayed with the over-politicization and second-guessing, which was not successful over the last 3 years either.

While Trump opponents bray about scoring points, I honestly think most citizens don't see things that way and don't like this kind of partisan response.

Time will tell.

Three more worships are required today.

So glad that Trump’s word salad and “air accordion” performances give you some comfort.........

Read it out loud.......

Literally ever post by trix could be replaced with a picture of her giving trump a rusty trombone.

I won't buy into some opinion blog, but it seems that the NYT was wondering about it as well
Who Are the Voters Behind Trump’s Higher Approval Rating? - The New York Times

Now if I could see what's behind that paywall...

You know, I think trump sucks and so was his initial response, which I think was near criminal negligence.

But I feel he is "performing" better now.

But at the end of the day he isn't doing anything but what the experts have been trying to get him to do all along.

So he's really just doing a better job by Dint of not doing as bad of a job.

I do know this shift was contemporary to his cessation of downplaying activities.

Trump looks bad in comparison to Coumo, Gavin Newsom, etc.

Trump looks incompetent.

People tend to rally around a leader in the time of crisis. Once this crisis is over in the summer, Trump will lose this support, and as we hold hearings to see what we can do better, Trump is going to look bad.
