Trump optimistic NFL season will start on time with hopes of fan-filled stands: report

i hope that we all live to see a concussionball season that i won't watch. i'm ready for normal again. i'll watch the Super Bowl and eat pizza, though.

It's fat-cat millionaires crying in their beer to the guy they gave money to to get him elected president. Now it's payback time. Public health is no their concern.

I think Trump is absolutely desperate for any signs that the economy can open again. If you've watched his recent briefings he seems to be coming more and more unhinged when the economy is being discussed.

Trump's not an optimist. He's an opportunist. He's optimistic about things that benefit him, and obsessively defensive about things that threaten him. (And his ego. Especially his ego.)

Being President...this service to the nation....has cost him most of his net worth....plus he gets abused constantly.... **** that noise.....
 
I don't know what things will be like in early September, so it's an optimistic view that the season will start. The bigger question is where this country will be in its ability to treat the virus, because otherwise people will likely be skittish sitting in packed stadiums. I just don't think there's a light switch transition out of this, but rather a slow building of confidence based on treatment.

That said, it could be different in other parts of the country that haven't been impacted as severely as others; but with the infection still growing, we won't know for a few more weeks how advanced the spread will be. I'm an optimist too, but a more cautious one who factors reality in that optimism.

If there is no baseball or football this year the stadiums should still have drive thru carry out where you can get a $7 hot dog and a $12 beer
