Decentralized leadership raises questions about Trump coronavirus response | TheHill

The rotating cast of officials appearing behind President Trump to detail the government’s response to the coronavirus are leading to new criticisms that they reflect a scattered approach from the White House that too often leaves states fending for themselves.

Top Trump administration officials say the appearances by a broad range of administration officials shows the “all of government” undertaken to combat the coronavirus.

But some current and former government officials see a disconnected strategy where it can be unclear who’s in charge of what or whether there is a coordinated long-term plan.
======================================================
There is no 'coordinated long-term plan' where the cast & the narrative change every day.

Trump reads off stacks of statistics about millions of health care items being made & shipped but where are they?

The lack of leadership in this WH is going to inevitably cost many thousands of lives.

Trump = mass murderer. By inaction.

:damn

NO! :doh

That is going too far!!

Each person leads an area of concern, reporting to Pence, and then Trump.

It is not "disorganized."

Trump is simply letting them present each slice of the pie they are working on.

He wants them to be recognized, and speak as experts on each subject area.

This is to show how many things are being worked on simultaneously, and to reassure Americans things are being and getting done.

Of course, the MSM and those people who actually believe their propaganda will disagree. In any case Trump is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't to some people.

However your final comment is just...scare-mongering, as well you should know.

LOL!!

Former Obama pukes don't like the way Trump is running things. Is anyone surprised?

If everything is just fine, according to you, then why are we seeing critical shortages in hospitals in disparate places like NYC & Athens, GA?

The people behind Trump at those briefing change because different information is being discussed. Oh, and they actually have more important things to do than listen to Jim Acosta make an ass of himself on a daily basis. Full disclosure: I have to admit the gaggle talking about South American drug interdiction the other day was a bit puzzling.

Bottom line is that Trump is trying to present knowledgeable, professional experts on various topics on a daily basis, but the all have far more important work to do; and some times they just don't have anything new to report.

Let's face it; if it were just Trump up there you guys would bitch that we're not hearing from the experts; If it were just the press secretary briefing occasionally, you'd bitch about that. If nothing ever came from the WH you'd bitch about THAT.

What's gone too far is the ****ing clownshow you continue to support, apologize and defend.

Clown show? Are you ****ting me? Those people have more time at recess than you have in your entire academic career. It's pretty obvious who the clown is.

The OP never learned in school that the federal government is there to back up the states when the states need help.

God ****ing help us that the states hardly, if ever, take the time to drill and/or create scenarios where a pandemic would strike and work on their own state and local cohesion.

Liberalism might just be a disease when it comes right down to it.

Nothing to report aside from the 1000+ deaths per days, overwhelmed hospitals and lost medical equipment, you mean.

Does everybody remember when laser beams shot out of every Republican's eyes after Clinton said, out of context, "What difference does it make?" That was over an incident in which four Americans were killed in a hostile country.

Now, over a thousand Americans are dying every day and there "isn't anything new to report."

What's that got to do with who speaks at the daily briefings? Which I thought was the topic of your thread. Maybe the fact that National Stockpiles were never replenished after the Swine Flu epidemic in 2009 might have something to do with it? Nah, it's always "Trump!", right?

that gets reported frequently. You think it's really a good use of those people's time to regurgitate data that's widely available? Maybe one should give a weather and traffic report.

And now your regressing to grade school for a "but, mommy, they did it too"

Didn't you cover that in your first sentence?

Joy Bahar must be advising you.

I'm sorry you find the deaths of 1000 Americans per day so boring. Another poster in this thread called the projected deaths of 100,000 Americans "nothing to be so shocked about."

So what happened between 2012 and now? What happened in those eight years to cause republicans to go from thinking that the deaths of four Americans in a hostile country to be a gigantic scandal to thinking that the deaths of a thousand Americans per day is boring and "nothing to be shocked about?"

Trump tires of the same people singing his praises, day in day out, so he has to keep the carousel going.

:allhail

What worries me are a few things.
Either those who insist the burden for all this be shouldered by the federal government are
1) either stupid and/or didn't pay attention in school.

or

2) believe every word coming from the liberal/anti-Trump grump echo chamber.

and there's also this...

3) our public schools are failing to teach kids about how government actually works and instead are putting their leftist, revisionist spin on things or how it "should work".

That's quite a strawman argument you've erected for yourself there, I must say.

There's the God's truth. Obama, instead of replenishing the reserves with worker's masks, spent money on drugs.

Oh but Trump is Hitler...

You obviously have no idea what "straw man" means.

Maybe instead of firing the pandemic response team and trying to slash the CDC's budget three times in the last three years, trump could have ordered more safety equipment, yes?

Anything on the thread content, besides a sarcastic one-liner that doesn’t address that trump has turned the USA into 50 separate and desperate countries. Bannon has won — the deconstruction is complete.

Yep. Jared Kushner. Clown of the Year.
