More voters say the Trump administration isn’t doing enough to combat the coronavirus outbreak, according to a new POLITICO/Morning Consult poll. The survey, conducted immediately before President Donald Trump announced a 30-day extension of his physical and social distancing guidelines “to slow the spread” of Covid-19, shows 47 percent of voters feel the administration isn’t doing enough in response to the outbreak, greater than the 40 percent who feel the administration is doing the right amount. While the new poll was conducted before the extension of the household isolation recommendations, it comes as other polls suggest the positive marks Trump earned for his early response to the crisis are turning more negative. A separate Morning Consult tracking poll shows Trump’s net approval on handling coronavirus — the difference between the percentage who approve and disapprove of his job performance — sliding 7 points off its high from March 20. In the POLITICO/Morning Consult poll, Trump’s overall approval rating is unchanged from last week: 45 percent of voters approve of the job he is doing as president, and 52 percent disapprove. Trump’s ratings pale in comparison to those for the governors of the various states. A combined 62 percent say their state’s governor has done an “excellent” or “good” job handling the crisis.

It's not a success, but it is as good as we can do. If we hold the deaths down to 100,000, then we have succeeded in doing all we can.

This past freaking weekend, NYC getting one of the Naval ships, you know, the same NYC that is a hotspot for this crap, the docks were freaking FULL OF PEOPLE WELCOMING THE SHIP IN......

Everyone is saying he should have locked down the country January 5th.......give your heads a shake, I mean yea, that makes a helluva soundbite 3 months later...with hindsight.

Trump got the 60% favorable rating for his handling of the crisis after he declared the National Emergency and said he was going to implement the war powers act. Since then he has backed off the war powers act and gone back to lying and blaming the governors and suggesting that caregivers were stealing PPE. It's no wonder his bounce is fading.

At this time, we are less than 3% of the way there. At this rate, it'll be sometime next year before we see 160,000 deaths.

who is responsible for Naval ships? The federal government...that would be Trump right? Further, who fired the Pandemic team that could have warned him and helped him stock up on supplies needed? Oh that is rgiht Trump did, in 2018

No one is saying that. People think we would have benefited from far more testing early on, and from gearing up for this 2 months ago, but no one is saying we should have shut the country down on January 5th.

The bounce was pathetic anyway. Typically in times of a national crisis, presidents will have skyrocketing approval numbers - 80% or more, because people will rally around him. Trump topped out at 49% in the biggest crisis this country has faced since WWII.

Trump is on TV with a press conference every day where at least half of it is devoted to everyone in the administration taking turns "dear leadering" him. Just the other day he bragged about his ratings for his pandemic briefings. Think about that, what kind of piece of **** is so narcissistic, is so immersed in their malignant solipsism, that they brag about their TV ratings for their televised briefings, for a crisis so severe, this orange tub of nasty now thinks it will be a success if only a 100,000 Americans die?

I don't what is worse, a man that would do such a thing, or those that would rationalize and defend it.

these estimates are based on the assumption that we will all be sheltered in place and 17 states are not in any way staying in home.
