The Strategic National Stockpile, America’s giant medical storage closet for a terrorist or biological crisis, once boasted more than 100 million respirator masks to protect doctors, nurses and other frontline health care workers in case of a contagion.

But when the COVID-19 pandemic started a few months ago, the supply had dwindled down to just 12 million fitted masks, known as N95 respirators, and 30 million surgical masks, a supply deemed to be less than 2 percent of what the nation would need for full-blown pandemic.

Trump failed to identify this then, the jackass has been very much in charge for almost four years, after this much time blaming one's predecessor becomes pointless and unconvincing, the posture of a nincompoop.

The content of the article is to blame Obama for this instead of putting any blame on the current president. Did Obama screw up and not restock? Yes. Did Trump screw up by not restocking when he became president? Yes. So what really is your point? A president could only be in office for only 4 years so from the START of his presidency they should be looking at stuff like this.

Well, if the failure was to LITERALLY resupply things, or ORDER them to be resupplied, that's ****ing easier than hell.

Look, the guy before me, who was supposed to deal with this, didn't. We just discovered it now due to need, and it takes time to ramp up to those numbers, so we are rushing everything through. As to why I didn't notice earlier, well, it's because people like you, kept me busy with useless **** like impeachment and Russians.....while the guy again, whose job it was to stock these, failed.

No, sorry you're wrong. You should probably reread the O/P article again.

The onus falls on the sitting president who allows the stockpile to dwindle and did, due to the H1N1 and that would be 44. Under the Obama years, "Greg Burel, the official who oversaw the stockpile for years before his recent retirement, told the Washington Post recently that officials made decisions based on risk analysis that prioritized the drugs, which expire every few years, over supplies like the masks."

Trump has been on the job for over 3 years. He can't blame his predecessor. Despite the fact that fat orange piece of **** has said he takes responsibility for nothing, it's his responsibility. If Trump doesn't like that, then he should not have taken the job.

But here's the real question!

Why didn't Bush leave more masks in the reserve than he did? He should have left double the amount so that we would still have some left over. If he were smart he would have gotten 1 billion masks in storage and we'd have never run out. So really this is Bush's fault.

Re-reading the OP doesn’t change the fact that Obama hasn’t been in charge of the strategic stockpile for three years. Trump has owned the state of the stockpile since January 20, 2017.

Trump is like a hero to deadbeats that never take responsibility for anything.

Trump spent the last 3 plus years golfing more than any president in history, by many accounts laying around until 11 in the morning before he drug himself out of bed to do anything, watching news for any perceived slight, and being a whiny little bitch on Twitter. Maybe if instead of these things he actually put a bit of focus into his actual job....

I have never been on any job where it was acceptable to blame my predecessor for something after I had the job for years. Then again, I am not a deadbeat, so maybe thats the difference.
