“Texas may have a very narrow window to take tougher action to avert a bad outcome with #COVID19,” he wrote on Twitter. “Building case counts in Dallas and other Texas cities, and a slow state response, are a dangerous harbinger that things could soon explode in that state.”

In Florida, which Gottlieb warned could become a “major epicenter,” Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) on Monday did issue a stay-at-home order for four counties in South Florida, but not for the entire state.

Florida now has more than 5,000 cases of coronavirus, making it one of the harder-hit states.

I'm almost within shouting distance of the villages here in flori-duh. It's a beautiful, huge retirement community spread over three counties and it's a republican stronghold. Every person running for senator, governor, or president better bring their butts here if they expect to get the vote, every republican person that is. The owners of the community are also huge republican supporters themselves. They gave a party for the million dollar donors on their yacht for mitt. My guess is the villages is eighty percent republican. Many, many vets and tons of folks who were in unions when they were working. Now they are the folks who don't like unions, don't like pensions and don't like social programs.

Our republican governor and one of our republican senators are perfect examples. Our governor said about his black opponent, do we want him in there monkeying things up. That's our governor, the same one who kept the beaches open for spring break and the almighty dollar, the god of the gop. Our current senator who used to be our governor pulled off one of the biggest medicare frauds in history. Great people we elect here in flori-duh.

Money for republicans is much more important than people lives who they don't know.

You see? This is the problem. The fact that each state is making these decisions by governors like Ron DeSantis who only cares about the Florida economy and tourist dollars and not thinking about the spread of this virus is precisely why this is going to absolutely ravage Florida, Louisiana and Texas. This country needs to uniformly adhere to the same protocol from state to state. It has to be uniform in ever state according to guidelines set in stone by the federal government. This delay by Florida, Louisiana and Texas is fueling the fire, it's seeding sick people among healthy people. That's how it rages out of control. These states will be in the very same predicament that New York has been dealing with in a matter of a couple of weeks.

Do not let people from FL, LA, and TX to cross the borders in to other states.

One size doesn't fit all. The state should be in a position to best assess its situation and make the decisions on what level of "stay home" is necessary.

Maybe, if you got off the Bong you would see more clearly.

Absolutely not. The states should all be on the same page, this isn't a blue state or a red state problem, this is an extremely serious pandemic, something nobody has seen in a hundred years. Precautions and actions should never be taken retroactively, it has to be proactive or we're going to see this horrendous situation only getting worse. And let me tell you, if the city of New York can't handle this pandemic, how do you think small towns and cities in the mid-west that don't even have hospitals - never mind ICU beds and ventilators going to deal with it?

Hmm... force all states to do what the worst state, by far, did. How about we mandate that public transit use be stopped? It seems that packing folks into trains and busses just might be a bad idea during a pandemic. Rural areas do not infect persons A and B by having them share rides with persons C through Z.

Big government nanny federal government knows best... You didn't get the lib's memo?

You are not getting this. 'Folks' aren't being packed into trains and buses in NY because they are not working. You 'rural' people believe this isn't going to reach you, don't you? Well, you're wrong, because it is. You can go pray to Jesus believing he's going to protect you, nope.... not in a pandemic he's not. God helps those who help themselves, and if you 'rural people' don't start taking this seriously and believe that 'yes I can get this' then you're in for a very harsh awakening.

This is a live feed from the George Washington Bridge, it connects New Jersey with Manhattan. It's not just a busy bridge, it's the busiest traffic bridge in the world, not in the state of NY and not in the USA, 'in the world'. As you can clearly see, the state of NY, NJ and CT. are taking this deadly seriously, as you should too.

That's lunacy. Do you assert that Wyoming and New York require the same level of "stay at home"? Does some "expert" in Washington know the conditions in all 50 states? Somehow I suspect those small towns in the Midwest don't have the flow of outsiders and international travelers or intermixing of citizens that Florida or NY would have.

Watch this week - numbers in FL- FL explode

When cases appear (totals-500-1000 or under 2000) and begin to run in hundreds in a specific area, a few counties and such, State high density populations, larger cities where people travel the State, well tell me what they should do.

Not that it is not coming, facts are it is there and numbers are high and rapidly increasing

Check the spike on on increases for FL for the past week.

Next not enough testing kits

Recall when NYC was at 5 K - How is that turning out?

In case you have not noticed some of our "expert" and essential workers are being infected and are not being tested unless (until?) they show obvious symptoms. Why does it make sense to say that those (select few?) who are deemed 'essential' workers should not be tested at least weekly?

o

Only ten states have populations greater than New York CITY. Not sure why Buffalo Chip, Wyoming would need the restrictions NYC requires.

You mean the Florida Democratic candidate Andrew Gillum found in a motel room with meth and an unconscious man who had overdosed and heart stopped - while Gillum was vomiting in the bathroom. Your perfect candidate for governor?

The FLORIDA has some work to do. As does NYC - neither of which suggestions that every state had to enact the same requirements of those populous states.

This virus has infected people in every single state. Right now, Wyoming has 57 confirmed cases. Nobody knows how many people have not been tested but may be infected and carrying this virus but dealing with it by self-treatment. It's true that Wyoming will have less cases simply because there are less people but the people that live in Wyoming should still be following the same guidelines by wearing masks when out in public and wearing gloves, and proper hand washing, sanitizing items that come from the store, stop touching their face with unwashed hands. All these things are elemental at the very least. The self-quarantining isn't necessary for someone that lives miles from civilization, but for those people that live in the cities where the virus will expand because of those already diagnosed cases, yes -- they certainly should be.

FL- What do you suggest?

State shelter in place? Non essential business closed - social distancing mandatory- closing beaches and parks? What work should they do?

Nobody gets a test without symptoms unless it's suspected they've recently been infected and recovered from coronavirus. There just isn't enough test kits to test everyone, if there were, the numbers of people carrying this virus and spreading it around would spike drastically. Two days ago, 11% of the NYPD called out sick. That's approximately 4,000 police that aren't on the job. That's 4,000 NYPD officers that are out sick, and hundreds have COVID-19. Three have died in the past two days. There aren't enough test kits, there aren't enough masks to protect these police officers. It's devastating and only getting worse. You can hear the desperation in the voice of Andrew Cuomo getting greater every day.

My nephew works in Ct. for the railroad, Metro North. He was offered $10 more an hour to go work in Manhattan underground in the rail yards. He took the offer. Now, he's sick with fever and chest congestion and home with his wife and two children. If he has coronavirus - and I don't even know if he has been tested yet, he'll give it to his wife and kids. He is someone who needs to be tested and qualifies to be tested. But there's a chance he hasn't been tested.

I don't live in Florida. I suggest those that do, and those chosen by the voters develop a plan for the state.

No worries, we're an Ivanka state. I'd worry about those Tiffany states.
