Good article explaining what healthcare workers are experiencing.
My Wife who is a nurse in a nursing home says this is exactly whats going on. She has to reuse PPE gear and reuse her cloth mask for days. She has to place the mask in a zip-lock baggie between shifts.
She currently has 3 patients under quarantine awaiting test results for the virus. The test was a week ago and still waiting on test results. She also mentioned that a CNA was permitted to work last night with a fever. That same CNA called in sick tonight. Certainly doesn't give me confidence that we will be able to slow the spread. Definitely not by Easter.

The CDC amd the FBI.....both have been ruined by Deep State and the corruption of The Failed Intelligentsia.....which failure is going to prove to be more costly?

So sorry to hear your wife has to work under such arduous conditions, and that you in turn are being put at risk. I have friends working in U.S. hospitals and they have informed me that the CDC is lowering the bar on safety equipment guidelines to make the shortages seem more acceptable, which is really just a liability thing. They want to prevent hospital staff from filing lawsuits by adjusting safety policy to make the utterly abnormal and unsafe seem normal.

At the start of this, workers were told to wear one new mask per patient. Then it was one new mask per shift. Now they are re-using masks for days. It's just a matter of time before the staff themselves are too ill to work.

I'm not pro or anti-Trump and consider myself to be more of an independent, but this is definitely Trump's fault. He cut massive funding from the CDC epidemic prepardness budget in 2016. Had he not done that, we probably would have enough safety equipment now. It's just absurd. I am also angry with the hoarders who bought everything up and are now sitting on it, to the detriment of hospital staff. I'm also PO'd at 3M for only manufacturing further masks for CHINA, so that China can hoard supplies. This is hardly the time for doubling down on a trade war.

The situation is just out of hand. The CDC is also telling workers that we are 3 weeks out from peak, at bare minimum. The numbers coming in right now are nothing compared to what is coming, and we are already running out of equipment. It's a disaster and Trump is delusional with his Easter deadline.

I also consider myself a Independent, but I'm also certainly anti-trump. I thought he was a moron all the back in 1988 and I'm only 46. I would've been just fine with John Kasick as president. And would have voted for him if he had won the primary. I've voted for Bush Sr, Clinton, Bush Jr, Kerry, Obama, Obama and didn't vote in 2016. So I definitely don't vote based on party.

I agree. It's been a week and still no test result on patients. Wife said lab is back logged. There is only one lab in this area about 60 miles away that are able to analyze results. It doesn't really matter how many people you test, if the results takes week or more.

There is no deep state. There's the president, the GOP and their cost-cutting fiascos that led to undersupplied medical workers. There's this ridiculous lack of a proper public health system. There is the absence of a disaster response. Own it.

I should've been more clear. I meant that my comment on the issue at hand was not from a pro or anti Trump lens... but yes, I am with you, Trump is an idiot. Worst thing to happen to this country on a Presidential level since George W. Bush, and Reagan before him. The best thing that could happen for America right now is for the Republican party to go the way of the dodo bird. This wilful mismanagement is a disgrace.

The delayed testing is pointless if the virus spreads exponentially. By the time the results are in, it has already infected the next few series.

My prediction is that most of the U.S. will become infected, either now or later. China, Taiwan and South Korea are showing a peculiar phenomenon which is that a cohort of people who recover from the virus are still testing positive for infection, which means they become carriers even though they themselves are just fine. It's not every patient, but they don't know how many patients demonstrate this trait. If that becomes a normal trend then it means we will have a second and possibly third wave of corona, this year. There is also the possibility that a vaccine may not work due to mutation potential, though right now that doesn't appear to be an issue.

Trump isn’t king and if his actions are illegal or unconstitutional (like he is being) than they have a duty to not follow those orders. The traitors are folks like you who have betrayed the United States of America. Trump supporters will rot in hell for what they have done.
