The universe's total cooperation in the fight against covid-19

Isn't is absolutely amazing all the universe is doing to fully support fighting covid-19!

All other germs and diseases have completely vanished - as have all other medical and health issues of any kind. The flu is completely gone. But it doesn't stop there. All tragedies, all newsworthy events anywhere on earth have all stopped. All protests gone. All injustice eliminated. Nothing negative, important or interesting of any kind has happened ever since the fight against covid-19 has begun.

All natural disasters suspended. All politics erased other than covid-19. Not one person on earth is suffering - except by covid-19. No significant new knowledge learned.

Check it out yourselves. Go to any news channel anytime day or night. Listen to radio news. Other than a few minor human interest stories, any topic but covid-19 no longer exists. It's now covid-19 24/7. At anytime, you can go to any news channel and it is about covid-19. But, curiously, the universe appears to have put earth into some time loop. That the news and what is being said about covid-19 is what the news is saying is exactly the same as the last hour, last night, the day before and the day before and the week before - a perpetual time loop for which nothing happens - nothing all - but the same covid-19 talk. Covid-19 all day. All night. Nothing but covid-19.

Candidly, it has become completely boring. Who wants to watch the same TV show 1,700 times in a row 24/7 week after week?
 
Aww, you poor thing. Has your TV viewing been mildly inconvenienced?
 
It is so easy to be discouraged, to speak of boredom, to dwell on the negative and what we have to give up. I, for one, am grateful for what we have and consider myself blessed. Look at impoverished nations, think of the people who don't have a keyboard to complain from.
When we think that we are IT, along comes a little bug we can't even see with the naked eye, and puts us in our place.
Yet we have a choice. Think about what we have, and not of what we are lacking. Take care of the needy, help where you can, and stop thinking about some inconvenience that is most likely to pass soon.

Is that what I wrote? Or was it rather that having to watch the same TV show over again is an inconvenience. Interesting how we adjust the facts until they fit the outcome.

I share some of your cynicism, but this crisis is far from boring.
Not boring when one of your loved ones is afflicted by the infection; my nephew who lives in NY. His family is in WI. and he is left there to fend for himself. Everyone's hands tied because it's too dangerous for him to go home or for his aging parents to be with him.

If you are burned out, change the channel.
I'm trying to avoid a needed surgery by being on a gallbladder fast type diet. Operating rooms closed unless life-threatening.
My husband has been scheduled for a needed surgery third week of April.

When it hits home, how can it be boring?
 
I like the attitude of the woman in Tampa who has a coffee shop that specializes in custom chocolates they make. She refuses to close, declaring her's is an "essential business." Why?

1. She would lose her business and her home - and it is essential that she doesn't.

2. Chocolate is an essential of life - because chocolate makes people happy and happiness is essential to life.

My wife has always said that chocolate is the most important food group of all.

Just switch to faux news or any of the conservative talk shows where it is 100% shove their heads up Trump's ass. You know, your kind of people. It's easy for Trump supporters to not see any wrong doing with Trump with their heads shoved so far up his ass they are eating what he had for dinner.

True, words can be ambiguous and open to interpretation. Sometimes, you can use info you have on the person to help you interpret intent. I'm relatively new here but have read enough of Love Bug and What if? posts to realize in this case they were not minimizing the Covid-19.

Does it help watching it all the time? Should a person with - or a relative with - cancer - watch cancer YouTube videos continuously?

In my opinion, the constant fixation on fear and paranoia is very harmful socially, personally and even for a person's health. A good positive frame of mind is vital to good health. I also think this is very unhealthy for children.

After 24/7 fear of socialization, can they really just turn that off by giving the "all's clear" signal? Or is society - already becoming too reclusive for the Internet and electronics - experiencing what will end of being a permanent harm?
