Fox News host Sean Hannity challenged Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin on the expansion of unemployment benefits in the $2 trillion coronavirus stimulus package passed by the Senate, saying some people are "going to make more money unemployed" than by remaining in the workforce.

Hannity said he supported helping Americans impacted by the spreading coronavirus, but questioned whether the bill's provision expanding unemployment benefits by $600 was necessary.

$600 of Federal benefit on top of the State unemployment benefit they are already receiving. No one is starving and there’s no reason to pay people more in Federal unemployment.
 
Who cares what Hannity and his low IQ viewers think? They don't have to take the checks then.

The concern is that providing a benefit of an additional $600/wk beyond regular unemployment to an employee that wasn't making that much to begin with incentivizes staying unemployed rather than going back to work when they can.

They are totally fine with giving away billions to Corporations, but a thousand or so to a person in need no way. I think it's because they cannot comprehend the billions part so it must not be real in their Fox altered minds.

Why are you defending this? It's a ****ing crisis, and they cannot take the time to ensure everyone gets precisely what they should based on pay stubs. It's in the article.
So they chose a number that for many will be about right, for some a little too much, for others, not quite enough.
Angry constituents at this? Hannity made them angry. Right wing propaganda made them angry. Their base is not reading this minutia, misunderstanding it like morons, and then getting angry about it.
They are told things in a way by right wing media that triggers them.

Well I think the Senate got all pissy when the Dems stepped in to stop their TARP like giveaway to corporations.
 
The recovery time line is not going to be done the Trump Hannity way.

My posts didn't talk about anger. It didn't talk about anything being inappropriate. I'm not the one triggered by this. You, on the other hand, seem to be having a bit of a reaction.
