The Trump administration quarantined any Americans who had visited China’s Hubei province, where the disease originated, within the past 14 days. The government also required screening and self-quarantines for all other Americans who had recently visited any other parts of China. Officials said the self-quarantine rules would required individuals to stay in their homes for a certain length of time, monitor themselves for certain symptoms such as coughing, and check their temperatures and were to report them to local health officials.

FOUR WEEKS LATER AFTER CONFIRMED cases in NY, WA, CA Mayor DeBlasio of NYC was telling people not to alter their behavior and ride the subways and go see a show and evidently they did because now NYC is the biggest disaster we have in this country. When the whining governor Cuomo FINALLY issued state warnings and shutting down restaurants etc. it was too late. States in the Midwest had already put these types of declarations by our governors in place several days before. Cuomo and deBlasio remind me of the saying, "a day late and a dollar short". Then there is another Democrat governor of Louisiana was aware of the threat but allowed Mardi Gras to occur at the end of February knowing people from all over the world attend Mardi Gras and today at the end of March, New Orleans has become a hotspot and is now spreading it throughout the state. The governor himself believes this crisis in his state occurred because of Mardi Gras.

Governor DeSantis a Republican is also facing a real crisis because a good number of the people in that state retire there from all over the country and they are at risk. Spring break happened like it does every year and many kids head to Florida to party for a week. While they were there DeSantis issued an order not to gather in more than 10 in any group. They didn't pay attention to it and he closed the beaches. Now Florida is being bombarded by a lot of folks from NYC and vicinity trying to escape and now he has issued an order anyone coming from a hotspot infected will have to quarantine for 14 days. Hopefully that will help stop more from coming'
PPE is the responsibility of the governors of their states to be able to address any crisis on their people by population as first defense . I know it is hard for lefties to comprehend that states do have responsibility to be prepared for any crisis when they think the federal government should be in control of all things.. Those begging for the federal government to step in and give them what they need were not prepared. The states that are hurting the most are under Democrat governor rule. Why? They know they have not done their job to use state taxes to provide for the people because they use their money to initiate agendas like green deal stuff and anything of special interest groups of their party.
There is no reason for Trump to do what you demand at this time because of all those in the private sector stepping up to meet the demands In just one day a new gallup poll released today has Trump now at 60% a 5% gain in just one day from the previous poll over the handling of the crisis. This increase is due to his actions within the powers of the Executive branch.
And after the way the Democrats in Congress have thwarted getting relief to people during this time of crisis in the name of promoting an agenda the majority see is the cherry on the sundae.
