I’m not talking about union workers as in workers who are unionized, I mean the actual functionaries for the union.

You can go to the grocery store that’s an exemption. But it is specifically not an exemption to gather for essential religious practices.

Religious practice is constitutionally protected and thus all restrictions should be narrowly tailored. Like I said, in my state religious ministers were not deemed “essential workers” and can be prosecuted for traveling to perform their ministerial duties like hearing confessions or giving spiritual guidance, but union shop stewards (and the unions are run by democrats) can do functionally the same thing and they’re “essential” so it’s obvious that leftists are targetting the faithful.

I can go to work and drive trucks, but if I go to confession I can be arrested. This is clear persecution.

If you gather with as few as one person you’ve violated the order under its language. And then it goes further and emphasizes “spiritual” gatherings are not allowed!

We do have telephones. I would think they'd be a natural substitute for the confession booth.

In the age of communication, I find it hard to believe people can't find a way to get in touch with their clergy if they're in need of spiritual support. Priests in Italy have used meeting applications to conduct mass etc.

And we're supposed to keep 6 foot distance while grocery shopping. And food is essential. :)doh) And get in and get out.

What's the plan for doing that in churches? Keeping distance, sitting inside for an hour or more?
