OK, I am following the COVID protocol very closely. I don't go out unless I have to. I try to go during less busy hours. I keep the six-foot distance where possible. I take wipes everywhere with me and wipe my hands when I get back in the car and wash my hands when I get home.
But in the back of my mind, there is still a little questioning. Here are 8 reasons why:
1. I am a math geek, a numbers geek. I follow the number of cases and deaths extremely closely and keep a log of them. I also break them down by cities. The site I follow is infection2020.com because it is supposedly the most current. What aggravates me is the advancing and retreating of numbers. For example, the site reported 610 national deaths. At this moment, it says 593. It's been that way for case numbers too, sudden spikes, then sudden retreats. Makes me wonder.
2. Given the violation of trust by the country's most respected agencies in recent months, the FBI, the Justice Department, the State Department which committed crimes to try to get Hillary elected, and then covered it up by trying to frame and impeach Trump, I now wonder if ANYTHING is beneath these people, even to the point of pushing a fake pandemic that would crash the economy and create fear in an election year. We already know the media would be cooperative. These numbers we get? What if they are produced by deep-staters in the CDC? Who knows if they are real?
3. Remember 55,000 to 80,000 people die every year because of the flu. Mostly elderly people. How convenient it is COVID-19 fatalities are almost exclusive to very old people. Makes it much easier to meld these deaths with things like pneumonia and the flu. Then the causes of deaths of these vast numbers become nebulous and hard to sort out. Of these deaths, are any really just the flu? Are all just the flu?
4. Youtube has vloggers who make vids on everything under the sun. 35 videos on how to remove a boil on your leg. But PRECIOUS FEW from actual current coronavirus sufferers. Yes, there are a few mostly after the fact. But for something so internationally widespread, one would think there would be hundreds of videos. There aren't. And here is a question: How many of you in the forum personally know someone who has died or says they have the coronavirus? How many have you personally talked to? Anybody?
5. Details, symptoms, risk odds, prognoses of COVID-19 are extremely hard to find. In this information age, I can't find out the answer to simple question. "What are the odds of my getting sick from going to the store and following the protocols? What are the odds of my getting it if I don't follow the protocols? Is lung damage inevitable, possible, or remote? What are the odds of death for each age group. One would think for a pervasive 'disease' such as this, facts would available easily and everywhere. They are not. That is suspicious.
6. If this situation is so dire in NYC, WHY are local government officials allowing young people to hold block parties and basketball games? Instead of complaining about them, why aren't the police arresting or ticketing offenders. Why aren't they closing down NYC?
7. If the situation were this dire, Democrats and the media would be calling for cooperation, putting all differences aside, and getting past the problem. Instead, there is bald politics, obfuscation and bashing of Trump. Makes me wonder.
8. If you were going to try to disrupt a roaring economy and turn it into disaster on a dime, If that was you goal, what BETTER more EFFECTIVE way is there to do it, than what is being done right now?? If you wanted to damage a president in an election year, what could you possibly do more effectively than this? If your goal were to crater an economy, and create Soviet-style martial law, what more effective and immediate tactic could you use?
