Texas Lt governor willing to die to jump start the economy due to covid-19 outbreak

Listen, bud. I don't have the answers.

I just hope you don't get it.

I have semi-self quarantined, but otherwise started taking precautions before this even began. People spread diseases isn't some new information. It probably been 10 years since I've touched a door handle with my hands and I stopped letting strangers get within 6 feet of me some time ago as well.

I hope you don't get it too. However, the list of "it" has never just been covid-19.

Fake Obama death panels...Republicans outraged.

Actual government choice to let old and sick and really a little of anybody die for some financial gain...totally cool!

We are so ****ed. Not just CV19 either.

I don't think it will do much good, but if he's gonna do it somebody should tell him to put down some tarps before pulling the trigger so his family won't have to get the carpet cleaned.

I agree with him. To keep the elderly safe they need to self quarantine and then they are completely safe.

The government is assuming everyone is stupid and reckless - and making responsible people pay for it. All it takes is ordinary safeguards. Why should everyone suffer because of the few stupid, reckless people?

Irony.

I fully disagree with how this is being handled. It is known that no matter what, covid-19, like most viruses, will ultimately go thru the whole of society like virus do once this wide spread.

What SHOULD have been done is identifying those people at particular risk (elderly, people with at-risk health issues) - and all efforts made to isolate and home quarantine them - with the power of the government making certain they are cared for in their quarantine - whether at home or in centers. Cops at the doors - NO ONE comes it, no one goes out. And to then maintain that until a vaccine and/or cure is found.

Telling 330,000,000 people to "stay home" until??? This virus isn't going away. Instead, the focus should have been towards protecting those at the greatest risk - and then use the power of our economy and government to protect THEM.

I think it's a little out of context but still, a moronic thing to imply that older people sacrifice themselves. We make decisions for the greater good and let the details sort themselves out.

A noble thing for him to say, unlike the Dems, who just rant like braying donkeys about how Trump is failing them day in and day out.

He basically said the same thing, just in a different way. Nobly, apparently.

Therefore, your solution is to hurt everyone, right? Why not just demand shoot-to-kill orders for anyone out of their home so no one is hurt?

Its all on Trump and his inaction.

Yep, but leave me up here to direct things. Basically.

Would you sacrifice your life for his 401K?

"but leave me up here to direct things"

Yeah. That's what I meant/implied from the perspective of (you) "Get back down in there" (I'll stay up here).

I remember I guy from elementary school who was known to be tight with a nickel. He ended up owning a construction company and once told a trench digger to get back down in there or he'd lose his job. He was afraid of cave-in. He got back down, and the walls caved on him and he died. The contractor lost his license, of course, which his wife ending up having to hold to keep the biz going. He still kept getting his picture taken with the local pols, though.

Looks like there had been around 12 deaths as of March 24th.

As of now it seems as though there have been about 4,300 deaths.

Yesterday they reported around 118 additional deaths (for the day).

In addition, it looks like they have to shut down the economy much greater than if they just made everyone Wear masks.
