Crowds lack California beaches despite shelter in place order.

It's not just CA. It's eye opening that so many people can be selfish, ignorant jerks.

Yes, I can foresee beaches and other public places being forced to close because people will not listen. Next thing you know conservatives will start whining about their constitutional right to be stupid and wander around, infecting others. I've already been called a fascist by an idiot on this forum (who evidently values his precious right of freedom of movement over keeping himself and others safe), for daring to suggest that a total lock down would help slow the transmission rate.

So people who are taking the time to enjoy themsleves are now "selfish, ignorant jerks?"

Nope. Only those that go out and gather together risking others. Stay home and enjoy yourself. The ocean will still be there in a month, you can't wait?

In the current situation, these people who went to the beach are, yes.

Put guards at the beach accesses and make them stay on the beach. That will solve the **** quickly.

The Police want nothing to do with these idiots. Plus CA. has a long history of idiocy, we'd be better off making a vaccine for that instead.

Like not knowing "police" isn't capitalized and there is no period after a state abbreviation, that kind of idiocy?

As long as they practice social distancing at the beach, it ought to be fine. You seem to underestimate cabin fever and overestimate the capacity of people to lock themselves inside their own homes.

LA County has about 75 miles of beaches alone- you want to put guards on every square inch? :doh

only if we pay for it by increasing taxes on the rich.

The people that are gathering in growded areas are, yes. They are helping to further spread it. I've seen plenty of videos of those idiots still partying in huge crowds and showing zero concern about it at all. That is selfish and ignorant, and just downright stupid.

But they weren't, which was the point of the report.
