New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said the coronavirus pandemic could last up to nine months at a press conference Sunday.

“This is not a short term situation,” Cuomo told reporters in Albany Sunday morning. “This is not a long weekend. This is not a week.”

“The timeline — nobody can tell you, it depends on how we handle it — but 40%, up to 80% of the population will wind up getting this virus, all we’re trying to do is slow the spread,” Cuomo said. “But it will spread, it is that contagious.”

The governor said the numbers are nonetheless “nothing to panic over.”

“It is going to be four months, six months, nine months,” Cuomo added.

Now THAT'S what I call leadership!! Now THAT'S the guy I'd depend upon to get my state the needed medical supplies. (If I were stupid enough to live in the state that made him Governor.)

He's also the guy who, four years ago, decided not to stockpile ventilators. Instead, he said they'll do a triage to decide who gets them and if that's not enough, they'll hold a lottery to see who gets the ones that are left.

Cuomo is a mobster, big mouthed PoS. Where was his preparedness plan? All those people that are going to die, because he and his predecessors did nothing.
 
Our federal government has essentially abandoned us. We are all Puerto Rico now.

What we know however is how much in spite of official data you continue to believe what the left tells you and ignores anything to the contrary. Noticed that you ran from the discussion on California and the effects of liberalism on the economy of the state which is what liberals who are truly cult followers always do, run when challenged moving on to some other issue to attack Trump and conservatives. As a socialist you rely on big massive central gov't providing for personal responsibility issues ignoring that it is gov't providing those issues that is the problem. You probably should be in Europe where obviously the coronavirus isn't causing any problems, suggest Italy! Socialism is great at spending someone else's money, spending in the name of compassion, and talking about how much you care about others. that sums it up, talk is all socialists are good at, not results

Too bad Cuomo wasn't part of the the Trump administration’s Department of Health and Human Services 2016 pandemic exercise that predicted this crisis. He might have been more prepared. But I dont believe that the contents of the report were ever revealed.

NO, our economy was built on individual risk taking and investment, hard work, dedication and the ability to earn personal income and wealth, NOT gov't dependence which is what socialism promotes. The strongest middle class and economy in the world was built on capitalism, not socialism

To my knowledge there are a lot of medical supply companies in NY so why have they not ramped up production?

Trump has already green lighted more ventilators to be made by ford and chevy and they are in production right now.
He has actually green lighted a lot of things to be made right now.

other than complaining what is Cuomo actually doing? to me it seems not a lot other than tell people to stay home
and complain.

This is about state and local responsibility and very poor leadership on the part of the governor something you refuse to accept as you continue to blame the President

Certainly it was not built on socialism, but it was not built on pure capitalism either. History has shown over and over that purely applied capitalistic principles do not lead to stable and prospering societies. Our greatest development came only after social reforms were introduced and protections for society. It is simply uneducated, simplistic or primitive thinking that "capitalism" is the answer to everything.

Let us assume this is what you are saying. How eager will someone in the future be to provide a cure or medical device when they are demanded to do it for free? Will you order labor camps?
