Disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein has tested positive for covid-19, state prison officials told the Niagara Gazette on Sunday. The 68-year-old who is serving a 23-year sentence for rape and sexual assault has now reportedly been isolated at Wende Correctional Facility in in Alden, just outside of Buffalo. He is one of two inmates at the facility who have tested positive and his diagnosis comes as officials warn of a rising number of New York City inmates who are in the same position. Weinstein’s spokesman, one of his attorneys, and his prison consultant all told Variety they could not confirm the news.

Harvey Weinstein reportedly tests positive for covid-19 as virus spreads in NY jails.

We're all looking for something positive to smile about, laugh about or dance over in these very trying times.

My heart goes out to all those doing prison time for robbing a liquor store or being arrested for possession. They don't deserve it, but Harvey does --- oh yeah, he sure does.

So has Plácido Domingo

Once in a blue moon, karma corrects what our justice system so routinely fails at, meting out the appropriate punishment.

Proof that things can always be worse. :lamo

Shh, hush your mouth. Democrats are in mourning right now that their hero Harvey might die.

If anything, people like the Clintons are probably relieved that they don't to have answer the question of why they took so much money from Weinstein. Michael Bloomberg was another close friend.

I'm sorry but you deserve time for robbing a liquor store. Possession on the other hand...

Guess I'm the odd man out. Don't want to celebrate anyone getting this virus even if it's Weinstein.....or even Trump.

I'm with you on the dope sentence. But knocking over a liquor store is a pretty heinous offense, HumblePi.

If there ever is a time to let them out, it is now, hopefully with an apology and a place to go. Harvey can crawl under a rock for all I care.

I don't think anyone deserve this disease. Have some mercy.

Be careful what you wish for. Karma has a way of coming back on you.

Btw, my nephew who lives in NY is ill with corona virus.

Sorry to hear about your nephew Trix, hopefully he'll make a full recovery.

That said, Harvey Weinstein deserves no sympathy, and I would only be lying if I expressed sympathy for him. He's a monster.

Wow. You're really laying it all out there now, aye Lurch? Why should his passing be less painful than the misery he put his victims through?

Your nephew has my well wishes. 80% of people who contract the disease have mild symptoms. May he be one of them, and i hope he isolates himself otherwise.

Thank you.
He doesn't have mild symptoms. However, his breathing is okay for now.
The doctors in the ER told him to stay put at home but if his breathing becomes labored to call an ambulance.
He told my brother, his dad, he would drive to another state but he is too weak to do even that.
His roommate is sick with it too. Misery loves company.

My nephew is 39, working as a DJ in NY. He has no family in NY. He is originally from WI.
My brother and his wife who are both up in years are feeling helpless. They can't help. Nobody can really. He's on his own.
Breaks my heart to see the devastation this disease has caused. It's complete havoc in NY.

At 39, the chances are he is feeling the worse of it now. The problem with NYC is that it's an intensely heavily packed environment, so one asymptomatic person will come into contact with many other people. I hope the lockdown works. Since the incubation time is about 5 to 6 days, it will be 7 to 10 days before the 'curve' of new cases found will be effected by the lockdown will effect the new case curve. That means, in NY, there will be 50K to 100K people infected cumulative by that time...

Stop making stupid statements.
