I will never forget a comment that I once read that went something like this:
Whenever you read a newspaper or magazine article about something, you can be sure that the writer intentionally or more likely unintentionally left out vital information or gave false information. Many times a person who actually knows the facts about a situation will shake his/her head when reading an article about it.

A few years ago, a young reporter wrote an article explaining that passenger trains between Los Angeles and San Francisco could never cross some particular mountains because it was just too difficult to do so. What that whippersnapper didn't know was that thousands of people (including me as a child in the 1950s) regularly crossed those mountains in trains (until train service petered out in later years).
Today, of course, we are getting a lot of false information about COVID-19. Usually because of ignorance, not necessarily malice. A year from now, some "experts" are going to be mighty embarrassed.
