Could Kobie Bryant's helicopter have been sabotaged?

Sorry, but to me it's a little bit too convenient that we have the death of Kobie Bryant happening as the heat is getting turned up on Donald Trump.

One particularly suspicious thing is that the company that made his helicopter was owned by Lockheed Martin, a defense contractor. A quick rigging of the helicopter to cause the death of a celebrity athlete could be just what is needed to take the headlines off of the Republicans' sham acquittal that will give Trump the green light to do whatever he wants.

You can't tell me this isn't suspicious.

Uhhhhhh....no.

Let's see, hilly terrain, dense fog, no terrain avoidance equipment installed on the helicopter...…………
Yes, one could tell you it isn't suspicious. I just did. :lamo

There needs to be a CT forum within the CT forum, it seems..........

It could have been.

It could've been the result of secret plot among the Catholic Church, the Masons, and the Church of the SubGenius.

It could be the work of magical beings who hide their existence from humans.

We should probably see evidence that the crash was the work of one of these groups or forces before we start acting on the idea that's what happened, though.

...just sayin...

So a veteran pilot crashed with a little low visibility? The instruments being tampered with couldn't have caused that?

And for anyone who would say that "but the NTSB said that____"...I don't care. Why should anyone believe an NTSB full of Trump toadies and bigots and nazis?

One could play "what if" all day.
Unless you can prove that the NTSB personnel were hired under the Trump Administration your comment of "toadies and bigots and Nazis" apply to the Administration that was in office when the employee was hired. :lamo

You seem to know how to tamper with a helicopter. What if "you" were involved.

Sikorsky is still owned by Lockheed Martin. Your hypothesis is as nutty as a squirrel's nest.

Step away from the bottle.

No.... Our speculation should be trained by the evidence. There is no evidence of this.

Maybe a unicorn jumped on board and this caused the helicopter to be overweight.

Do you have evidence?

Veteran pilots crash all the time.

Well, it is going to take some extraordinary effort but I think I can do it. Been reading up on how to accomplish this, and been training so here goes.

It isn't suspicious.

I DID IT!!!!

Flying straight into the side of a fog-covered hill at 160+ sure sounds like sabotage.

‘Attempted VFR flight into IMC’ is one of the most common causes of a general aviation crash. OP is acting like this is some bizarre, rare phenomenon. There’s a reason you wait for experts on an aviation accident.

I have questions about it factually, but they all surround ATC and the pilot. I listened to the tower tape TMZ had. Reportedly the guy also was an instructor so he would have had his instrument. Not sure how equipped the helicopter was but I would assume it at least had some instrument flight equipment considering its age. He was cleared to follow the highway but that is all the tape had. Not sure if there was other discussions before he turned and headed toward the hillside.

In the end, no amount of experience or instrumentation makes the pilot immune from making a mistake. In low ceiling/visibility conditions it is easy to unintentionally blunder into a cloud and get disoriented. Once you’re in the cloud, you lose track of whatever visual landmarks you were guiding yourself with.

We'll see. Since he reportedly climbed before turning south toward the crash site I don't discount the possibility there was more to that ATC tape than has been released since he had asked for flight following earlier and couldn't get it below 2K and 2K is altitude he reportedly climbed to before heading in that direction.
