What if it was all a charade?

This is in CT because it’s entirely hypothetical and no evidence whatsoever of the theory has been presented but what if this whole Soleimani deal was a set up agreed in by Trump and factions within Iran to bury the hatchet?

What if factions within Iran had decided that Soleimani was out of control and that his methods were causing unsustainable economic harm? What if they decided that he needed to go but couldn’t easily get rid of him because of fear of internal repercussions? What if they effectively handed him over to the US in exchange for a US draw down?

What if this whole series of events was negotiated as a way for Trump to get the US off the hook in the ME while saving Iranian “face”?

Why do you think they would have to actually communicate all that to Trump?

You can just put the guy in the firing line and hope for the eventual best.

Heard people saying it was a charade between Russia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the U.S. to keep the arms flowing. Russia benefits from arm sales. U.S. benefits from arm sales. Who knows. It all seems so pointless if it is going out with a whimper like this.
