Professor Simon on Youtube reports that the Navy has recently patented a "antigravity device" and it is shape, interestingly enough, like a "tic tac".

Those UFOS are ours. Methinks the Navy is toying with antigravity, not telling anyone, including it's own officers, and gauging the public reaction ( because there are, indeed, real UFOs, and a long winding complex story surrounding it, and the US wants to let the story out gradually, not all at once. ).

Or at least admitted that the lack of anything conclusive tells us all we need to know? I posed these questions and more to some of the last remaining old guard of serious UFO study for their analysis on whether the end of ufology, one way or another, is finally in sight.

Not necessarily. Read Dr. David Jacob's "walking among us".
UFOs operate clandestinely, they have the abiity to cloke their ships so that they cannot be seen, though some are.

there are millions of them out there, and there are a number of legs to the story

    1. They mutilate cattle, coring their genitals, anuses, parts of facial areas, libs, eyes, and udders. No blood is left, and the cuts are razor sharp, no teeth marks, and no foot prints, car tracks, etc and not a trace of blood.
there are hundreds of thousands of these mutilations reported and it is a world wide phenomenon, let alone all over the US. When they do this, they put a large field of energy around the activity which switches off humans and electronic devices ( which explains why there are no videos of them doing, though there are a few persons who escaped the field, and witnessed it happening. They put out a tractor beam, lift the cows up to the ship, mutilate them per above, then drop them back to earth ).

    2. They abduct humans. This is the book "Walking among us", and the abducteees, under experienced controlled hypnosis, hundreds of people from all walks of life from many different parts of the globe tell a similar story, that aliens are abducting humans intergenerationally ( families through generations ) removing ova and sperm, mixing with with alien organic matter, and creating alien/human hybrids, and when they become indestinguishable from humans, they are planted on earth. There are \ thousands of them on earth. They have remarkable abilities, such as the ability to control via neural engagement, humans, we are powerfuless against them ( unless we appraoch them in great numberss ). they can communicate with us either vocally and/or telepathically ( the hybrids, the ETs are only telephathic ). Now, that may seem fantastic, and it is, just read the book and you be the judge, it's a fascinating read. Similarly, When they (the UFO/ETs) do this, they put a large field of energy around the (abduction) activity which switches off humans and electronic devices ( which explains why there are no videos of them doing it, though there are a few persons who escaped the field, and witnessed it happening. They put out a tractor beam, lift abductees up to the ship, and return them when they are done with them.

    3. They hang around nuke silos and are monitoring our nuke efforts closely.

They do not seem to be interested in our cultures, or our political systems or leaders and do not seem to be interested in dealing with us, though there are stories of Eisenhower meeting with ETs and signing a contract, though I have no idea of that story's veracity.

There is a lot of woo surrounding the subject, so talking seriously about it is frustrating, since so many people look upon it as a joke, and one can even lose one's job if one talks about a lot, so many people do not.

No one knows what their end game is. but one thing that it is, indeed, for certain, they operate clandestinely, they go though a lot of effort to hide what they are doing. Yes, UFOlogy has a lot of nuts and charlatans, and yet a few smart individuals who'll fascinate you, if you pursue the subject and keep an open mind.

The biggest MISTAKE one can do about UFOs and ETs is to assume that it is impossible to traverse great distances, let alone anything about how they got here, and why they are here. No one knows, really, no one knows.

I say listen to only Stanton Friedman ( nuclear physicist ) and Dr. David Jacobs. There are a few others (Bob Lazar, perhaps ), but they are a safe bet until you get into it more, and know who is looney, and who is not. While you are at it, Youtube and google "the TR3b" It's a black op US made antigravity craft, "black triangle" that has been spotted ( and photographed ) in various parts of the globe. There is a video of it on Youtube, in flight. I believe the US has antigravity, and is keeping it under wraps by the military.

The subject is vast and there is a staggering amount of reportage, books, you tube videos, on the subject, etc., available. Proceed with caution, and let your intellect and curiosity guide you.

I am posting this here because even though the navy has verified this is real, it is about UFO's and probably would not be accepted in the regular new post forums.'

Sometimes I wonder whether the govt isn't just playing games with UFOs. Pretending they might be there. Posting enough to give people reason to think they might be real, but never enough to prove it. All to keep other secrets hidden.

Yes, these seem to be real "unexplained aerial phenomena," but there is no indication whatsoever that they are extraterrestrial. I think the odds that they are terrestrial phenomena are much bigger. What they are, I don't know. Apparently the Navy doesn't, either. Period, full stop.

This doesn't mean that I'm negating the possibility of intelligent life elsewhere in the universe. I just think that the odds that another civilization coexists in time with ours and is located in a feasible enough vicinity (given technological achievements) to be able to visit us, are extremely small.

The universe is vast. The nearest star, one that doesn't even seem to harbor a planet able to sustain life as we know it, is very, very far away. Others with promising planets are even farther away. The universe is also very old. Conceivably, civilizations come and go and get extinct. So, to have one currently able to engage in interstellar travel, and based near enough to come here to visit us, is actually not very likely.

Read up about the Fermi Paradox.

Much more likely is that whatever was seen by these airplane pilots, is something Earth-born.

I grew up next to the largest military installation in the world...we never quite knew whether it was aliens or the military messing with us.

Please provide a primary source for an official statement from the Human Genome Project team using the phrase “extra-terrestrial DNA”. There are highly speculative ideas based on gaps in our knowledge and understanding of DNA and how it developed, but yet again, it is a massive logical leap to go form that to definitively asserting the intervention of some kind of intelligent alien species.

There is no reason that “different” has to be “extra-terrestrial”. Throughout human history, we’ve encountered all sorts of things that appeared “alien” to our understanding at the time but subsequently turned out to be perfectly explainable within the context of this planet.

There is nothing open minded in presuming such a specific conclusion on the basis so little paper-thin evidence. I don’t see it being anything more than one of countless different possibilities, and one which would raise as many questions as it answers.
I'm really sorry I can't put my finger on a statement made 15 years ago. There is plenty on the internet about HGP, so if you're really curious you can research it yourself.

I remember at the time having the conversation with like-minded individuals. HGP achieved its goal of decoding the entire genome after years of efforts. Among other things, it offered an hypothesis that the DNA part once referred to as "junk DNA" was in fact extraterrestrial in nature. That hypothesis has not yet been proved, but it was offered. At the time it was discussed even in the MSM.

I did a quick Google which only came up with various kook sites. If the Human Genome Project team had actually made anything like the statement you suggested, I have no doubt it would have been splashed all over the front pages and we’d all be well aware of it. I stand by my suspicion that the HGP only reported gaps in knowledge and it was other people who leapt on the idea of “extra-terrestrial DNA” to support their own preconceived conclusions (or to sell things to people with those preconceived conclusions).

Well that’s already several steps away from your initial statement about the HGP reaching a conclusion that there are high odds of "extra-terrestrial DNA”. This is a major problem in this kind of discussion, where half-remembered quotes and statements are presented as evidence. If you don’t have any kind of original source available, I don’t think it’s legitimate to make the statement in the context you did (nothing personal, this kind of thing is far too common and far to easy to slip in to).

More to the point, and I think this demonstrates my general position on the subject, I don’t see how we can make any kind of logical leap from identifying something unknown that doesn’t fit with what we understand about the world currently to defining specific ideas about intelligent aliens directly interacting with us in some way. There would be literally an infinite range of other possibilities which require no more of a logical gap. We only go to aliens at the moment because that’s in the cultural zeitgeist. At other points in history, people would be just as convinced by claims for ghosts, demons or gods being involved instead.

I'm going to continue being honest with you Joe--I could not care less whether you are informed about what HGP did in 2004. Nor do I care what you think about the UFO question and the matter of alien creatures.

Too many people have told too many stories about abduction and other such things. Though I have spent thousands of hours flying in my life, I have personally seen only one craft that could be described as UFO, and that for only a few seconds. No, I did not call the government to report it, but so many others have including dozens or more commercial and military pilots.

Whatever your exact position on the matter is, that's fine. It is really frustrating to "converse" with people in some stage of denial, no matter the subject.

Yes, I'm all for healthy skepticism, but anything can be taken too far. At some point, skepticism can become denial.

As Kierkegaard pointed out, there are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what is false, and the other is to refuse to believe what is true.

You’ve still not established what I’m meant to be denying though. You’ve made generic comments about aliens but you’ve not described any kind of meaningful hypothesis to explain any and/or all UFO sightings (and all of the related abduction claims, claims about DNA etc.). Saying “It’s aliens!” is no more an answer than “It’s the government!”, “It’s Russia!” or “It’s natural!” would be.

I am not denying the possibility of some kind of intelligent alien species being the explanation for at least some of these events. I am denying that there is any justification to presume that is a definitive explanation or even any kind of most likely one. Again, even if that were accepted, it only serves to raise as many questions as it would answer. I’d also suggest that focusing on any one possibility is more of a denial of all the others. You have your preferred conclusion, I’m still open to all the possibilities.
