The cancer myth

Cancer is not 1 disease, but as to the bolded no one is expecting a sudden miracle cure for all cancers, but why would you oppose research into something just because it may take a long time to figure out?

I said I opposed research???? WHAT????

Seems to be G4Ns position

You have no idea what my position is. This OP was about the fact that our society has mythologies that most people believe. I never said it was a conspiracy. But it is deceptive even if not intentionally deceptive.

However if you do a little reading, even in mainstream medical sources, you will soon realize that most cancer is still not close to being curable. Which is scary, considering about half of us can expect to get it.

Research has been mostly by the drug companies, and their focus is on finding chemicals that destroy cancer cells, allowing patients to live a little longer. They seem to think that slightly increasing patients' survival time will eventually result in a cure. But many are skeptical of that approach.

Maybe the drug companies' chemo approach is wrong. But it's profitable, so maybe they have no incentive to change.

What we need is more awareness, less faith in mythology.

Pretty much calling research a waste of time and money here
think the idea that there are effective treatments for cancer is another myth. Cancer is not understood. It is so much more complicated than what they expected. The more they learn about it, the less they understand.

So the focus is on development new drugs to shrink tumors and extend life by a few months.

Just because that is a conspiracy theory doesn't mean I believe it. There is some truth in the idea that the medical industry is about making money, but I don't think it's a conspiracy. Everyone wants to make money, that is not the big problem. The big problem, as I see it, is too much faith in mythology. And refusing to change course after going down a dead end path.

The only myths I see are the BS CT nonsense you are spouting. If you dont like dead end paths then stop posting such utter nonsense about modern medicine.

The cancer industry is a money racket. Every time I see people walking for the cure I just face palm. I know they're doing it for moral support reasons but they raise so much damn money, and where does that money go? The 5 year survival rate of people with stage 3 cancer who undergo chemo is less than 25%, and it costs a fortune.

Further, a lot of cheap and effective pharmaceutical treatments whose patents expired are now being taken off the market by the government so that people can't access them.

From all the evidence I've seen, they already had effective treatments for cancer years ago - or at least, ones which a much higher success rate - and they buried them.

We are still waiting for the evidence.

You obviously have emotional reasons for wanting to trust the medical industry. I can't blame you for that -- we would all like to feel they can save us from the most common dreaded diseases. But I prefer to live in reality, while you prefer fantasy.

No I have scientifically proven reasons you obviously have emotional reasons for being a Cter which is why you post factually untrue information.

So you think all the articles I posted about cancer are lies? I only posted mainstream articles. What exactly do you think those articles are lying about? And why would they lie?

I already showed you why you were wrong using facts not opinion pieces but then you dont deal in fact because you are a CTer

Try learning how to actually do research and how science works before you delve into things you are clearly not even remotely equipped to comprehend.

You showed me I was wrong? Really? And you know all about cancer and how science works?

What a typical CTer silly comment. Of course I dont know all about cancer, no one does but I know a whole heck of a lot more than you who has only used google to find things that support your CT stance.
No go back to post #5 and look where I showed your false claim that chemotherapy has an average 5-year survival success rate of just over 2 percent for all cancers was untrue.
