If Alien Contact Is Received: what then?

We already have been contacted, at least as early as Ike's administration. Other governments are also aware. Yes, the public has been kept in the dark, perhaps with good cause. Cognitive dissonance is so strong in some humans that they could never handle the knowledge. It would blow the proverbial 50 amp fuse.

From most of your posts you seem like a well rounded and sensible individual. Which is why I can’t understand why you’ve latched on to such ludicrous conspiracy theories.

There is a difference between a conspiracy theory and a conspiracy fact.

Many people consider it a conspiracy theory that the CIA is in the dope business. It is a fact, not a theory, and I know from personal experience.

Cannot say the same about aliens, as I have no personal experience, but between Blue Book and so much more, there is no doubt in my mind.

Nobody conspired to understand the visits by aliens, but some in government DID conspire to put Blue Book into File 13, if you know what that means.

You too seem well rounded and pleasant, thanks for the compliment. Do you actually believe we are alone in the cosmos on this planet?

It’s highly likely that we’re not alone in the universe . However it is highly unlikely that we’ve been visited by extraterrestrials.

I don't understand why you would think it might be kept secret.

There are huge piles of facts and evidence that work to render your last sentence an inaccurate statement.

I would expect any aliens to have been watching us for decades before making an contact.

So they would probably know about the UN and contact them rather than the US government.

Then the Republicans will nuke them.

They'd be out at area 51 smoking hooch with the Generals or hiding out in one of their many bases as they went about influencing leaders toward world conquest or some more benevolent theme.
 
It seems to me that I watched a lot of fantastic movies. And do not be surprised if I meet on the street, for example, Hulk. I think the government will not tell us if it receives such a signal. Until some apocalypse comes
