I'm sorry, but I have a hard time believing there are "true believers" this crap is so preposterously illogical, it's unfathomable to me that anyone believes it for real, as if it's some kind of joke, trying to convince others of their sincerity, but people assure me, there are true believers. What does that take anyway?

I think that there are people who need an identity so much that the necessary denial of reality that such crap involves is the attraction rather than a negative.

That the more it is difficult to show your commitment to the cause (it being obviously false) the better.

But then that is my take on all religion.

As a load of comic irony, I doubt other people have missed that you are asking this question. While also having a profile image that somehow espouses you only need defend your country from enemies foreign & republican...

I don't want to be a dick, but the weight of this comedy is so heavy it hurts.

Had a guy on another forum say "back when the earth was flat" LOL
Of course, it fits right in with believing in Jewish creation, while also citing science to back up genesis and denying carbon dating and geolog like he does...
I dont think its silly to believe in a God but i think its silly to throw away your integrity to defend it.
Seems like that applies to most collectives, though....

I agree. Personally, I do not know a single person who believes the earth is flat.

The same kind of folks who believe in the USGOCT. Needless to say, both are made totally impossible by science.

What absolute nonsense to claim the earth is flat when in fact anyone with a grain of common sense would know that it is pyramid shape.

As Mark Twain noted by way of Huck Finn, faith is when you believe in something that you know ain't true.

If the earth ain't flat, then how in the hell am I supposed to check the oil level in my vehicles? Huh? What about that? How would I know when the bath tub is full? You people think you're so smart...

Google "the flat earth society" Indeed, it's a thing! No bazinga! Now whether they are just trolling us is another question altogether.

Trolling. You have to know this to understand the fun these folks have. Never the less, somewhere, somehow, there are true believers.

After working for the Federal Government for 25 years, I can tell you one thing FOR SURE--those that espouse these "government conspiracies" GROSSLY overestimate the mental capacity and ingenuity of the average WG and GS employee.

Those aren't the ones that were involved in the USGOCT though, Dick. The US government has pulled off a number of conspiracies thru fear, threats, money, ... .

If you think that the government is incompetent, then just try to actually think thru the scenario of the USGOCT.

Then measure that unbelievable scenario against the evidence that there actually is for it. That = zero.

Then look at all the many impossibilities one has to believe to support the USGOCT.

It is as plausible as flat Earth.

If the earth was round, it would roll right off the backs of the elephants.

Very true, I'm sure.

One thing that WG and GS employees make is pawns in the great game.

We saw that on 11 September as Vigilant Guardian went into play.
