I don't have the power to check all Government files, so, I put this topic in conspiracy theories although it is more financial theories thanx to owners of investment companies who took care to create confusion: many companies own each others and CEOs are just public face, like in the case of offshore companies. if you have some more information, you can add to this topic.

The US military industry includes companies like Lockheed Martin, Boeing, General Dynamics, and many others. Most of them are owned by institutions, like investment companies and it is interesting that the same companies own and the prison industry. Another interesting information: 76 out of 108 high-ranking military officials who retired between 2009 and 2011 went on to work for defense contractors or defense consulting firms.

The CREW report noted, “Every year, the Pentagon awards hundreds of billions of dollars in contracts to the defense industry. Retired generals, with their strong relationships, robust contact lists, and insider knowledge, are valuable assets in the competition for contracts and can easily make more than their base pay... by serving on a single corporate board.”

Rumsfeld and Cheney, launched what is now the most far spread, privatized national security and military apparatus the world has ever seen. They started from 1981, Regan. The largest banks in the world are financing the largest Private Equity Firms in the world who now have controlling interests in the largest mercenary armies, crowd control technology, weapons, bullets ... Former Military leaders, Generals and the like, are now heading up and/or advising Private Equity Firms.

The biggest institutional shareholders of Lockheed Martin are the same those who own the other defense contractor companies (Boeing, etc): The state street corporation, Capital World Investors, The Vanguard Group, BlackRock, etc. They own each others also, to create confusion.
Who hides himself behind these investment companies? The same those who started to privatize American defense before 30 years: Donald Rumsfeld and Dick Cheney, for example.

Before many years, Cheney had USD $85 million in the Vanguard Group and the Vanguard invested money into military industry and prison industry. So, the companies that own military industry and prison industry are The Vanguard Group and similar and they are owned by Rumsfeld and Cheney. They are the public face to hide the real owner, similar to offshore companies, but the investment companies take money from many people and it is a better option than an offshore company, in the sense of hiding who gave the money and who’s capital goes where. The CEOs are not real owners, they are the owners only officially, for the public. The real owners are politicians that profited from the war and they hide behind investment companies. Cheney is rich because of Halliburton company that profited from the war in Iraq and other wars, he took care that Halliburton win contracts with the government. When he got $85M from Halliburton, Cheney invested in the Vanguard Group and the CEO of the Vanguard use that money to buy stocks of Lockheed Martin, Boeing, and GEO group that owns prisons, etc. All these companies get (military and prison) contracts with the government thanx to Rumsfeld and Cheney. The GEO , CivicCore, Lockheed Martin, Boeing are in fact owned by hidden investors like Rumsfeld and Cheney. The CEOs of the state street corp and the vanguard group help them to hide who invest and where and how much.

The Vanguard Group, that invest money in Military Industrial Complex, invest money in the private prison industry too. A Texas judge made a process in 2008 against Vice President Dick Cheney and former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, they were responsible for prisoner abuse in a privately run federal jail. The grand jury accused Cheney of a conflict of interest because of his alleged influence over the county’s federal immigrant prison and his investments in the Vanguard Group, which invests in private prison companies. The indictment accuses Gonzales of using his influence to stop an investigation into corruption during the building of another federal jail. The indictments were bought by Willacy District Attorney Juan Guerra, who was later arrested and indicted by Cheney's prosecutor Marvin Mosbacker, working under the Cheney and Bush administration...

I am sorry. I can't make much sense out of all that. Is emglish not your native language

Yes, there is a constantly operating revolving door between retiring career military men and the companies that serve the military industry. Retired military guys also populate the mainstream media as talking heads for our permanent war situation, 15 years and counting.

With minimum mandatory sentences still being the rage, investing in the prison industry brings profits.

The Global War On Terror is the gift that keeps giving for those in the business. As Smedley Butler noted, war is a racket.

And no country in the world does war as a racket better than the US of A.
