Art Bell hosted a paranormal talk show back in the 90s. I think his exposure and popularity has definitely peaked. There might be some hanger-ons still tuning in.

Anyway, on it he would discuss ghost sightings, mediums communicating with spirits, extra-terrestrials, and other paranormal activity. Did you ever listen to him?

I did a few times. It came on pretty late in my area. Never convinced me of whatever they were discussing. Much like the many CT, paranormal, etc. type websites.

Was ok entertainment when I had to work through the night.

Pretty much my feelings too. It's interesting to consider oddities, and I found the first-hand accounts with people who believed they had been abducted, or communicated with spirits, to be fascinating, even if it was all in their heads.

I only listened when I was on the road in the middle of the night, and then only if they were talking about something interesting. Mostly, it was just to laugh at because the topics were so utterly ludicrous that anyone in their right mind wouldn't take it serious. It's the same reason I used to listen to religious radio. Crazy people believing crazy things make for great entertainment when you're in the right mood. I'll still listen to George Noory if I've got nothing better to do in the car.

From time to time I was a member or was the lead for wildfire accident investigations. When interviewing witnesses and the statements varied, it was not that a witness was lying, they were stating what they believed happened. All eye witness accounts should be backed up by other evidence. From that one can put the account of what happened together.

Most of the paranormal, ufo, etc stuff is just hard to prove without some sort of physical evidence.

no

but there are currently a number of programs on TV which investigate paranormal activity.

I have never actually viewed a whole show but they seem to have all kinds of instruments for measuring temperature changes and odd energy currents and bizarre noises

In all the years I worked from home, I often worked late at night and into the wee hours of the morning when the doorbell and phones weren't ringing and I could concentrate without interruptions and distractions. But I always had the radio on in the background so I listened to a lot of Art Bell and then to George Noory who replaced him. Since retiring I don't listen to radio in the evenings any more so don't know if Noory's "Coast to Coast" late night program is still going or not.

I frankly didn't buy a lot of stuff either of them presented, but it was definitely interesting and entertaining.

I used to all the time. A nice break from the political talk. Problem is he hasn't been on the air for some time. George Noori took over his show. Art is in the Philippians somewhere relaxing. He does have a podcast I think he does every once in awhile.

Sure, it was laid back, enjoyable, and interesting.

Driving after midnight was made easier with Art Bell.

I pretty much quit listening when Bell left. Noory just doesn't have quite the same appeal Bell. I have listen a few times. That was quite awhile ago.

Never heard the show but I saw him speak on that ancient aliens show years back.

I haven't had that channel in awhile but I used to like the speculation about old mystery sites like the recent discoveries off the coast of India and that Turkish site gobekli Tepe.

I don't have a clue about any of that alien stuff. I prefer evidence over hearsay but as a history fan, It amazes me we know so little of the past.

Gobekli Tepe: The World’s First Temple?

"Predating Stonehenge by 6,000 years, Turkey’s stunning Gobekli Tepe upends the conventional view of the rise of civilization."

Yes. It was god awful. Boring. Ridiculous proof. Insane guests. It was also on so late...

If you've never heard Coast to Coast and you're at all interested in ghosts or aliens, you might want to throw one on YouTube or archive.org prolly has some.

Next time you're bored of DP, FB, Twitter, and your usual internet spots, throw on a coast to coast with art bell, you might dig it.
