You don't own anything.

We don't own anything as when we die someone else gets it.

I believe everything we have, whether paid for or not is just borrowed.

Life is fleetingly short...and back to dust we go.

Paid for and borrowed are not the same thing.

I'm not sure what means, but OK (I think)

Godwin's law (or Godwin's rule of Hitler analogies) is an Internet adage which asserts that "As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Hitler approaches 1—that is, if an online discussion (regardless of topic or scope) goes on long enough, sooner or later someone will compare someone or something to Hitler or his deeds. This leads to false analogies along the lines of "Hitler was opposed to fox hunting therefore fox hunting is good"

OK, I was not thinking of him, but a scenario where the Gov. wants my tattoos.

Homes may be 'taken' for private projects - US news | NBC News

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Thursday ruled that local governments may seize people’s homes and businesses — even against their will — for private economic development.

I understand the point about compulsory purchase orders but the thread title says anything. I did ask for proof that I don't own my clothes. And not all members here live in the USA.

Where do you live?

Checking into this more and you appear to be right. I'm very interested in the land ownership part and how to obtain an Allodial Title on my land :)

To my knowledge you can't. The government owns all the land and deeds it out. You may keep the land as long as you pay your taxes or maintain your obligations to the government. Even if you did manage to get ownership of the land it is clear our government will use it's military to take it from you. We have done it to other countries, Native Americans, even the south during the civil war. Once our government decides it owns something nothing else matters unless you can defeat our military.

Land is something but it is not anything(everything)?

You are correct in that you can and do own personal articles. However if you have a contract with our government whether it is a deed, title, or license you most likely have signed away ownership or even your rights for government granted privileges. Be careful because privileges can be cancelled or revoked.

I do not know if this is entirely true. You must know the knwo the 'rules of the game"" and then you can do a lot.

for an example see this docu:

Land is something but it is not anything(everything)?

True. The government only wants to control you. Once it strips away everything you are required to get permission from the government to own or do you are literally left with the close on your back.

This was a bit discussed on another thread, but it is a whole topic all by itself.

in usa nobody (as a person) really owns anything. I really think this is worldwide also but still working on that one.

not your house not your car, nothing!!! it is all owned or half owned by the government.

There are certain things one owns. Your house no, the government can take that for non-payment of taxes or perhaps an IRS debt. Ownership in my opinion is something that can't be taken by the government for whatever reason. It doesn't matter if the government is federal, state or local.

Fair enough. Perhaps the thread title should be changed.

The problem is where are you going to keep your other possessions if you cannot use the land, build a structure, or even stand where you are standing. What good is a couch if you have no where to legally put it.

Flanders.

I am not familiar with the laws of that govern anything there.

In the US, there are various levels of government that range from very local to Federal.

ALL of them can employ legal devices to remove property from owners. Usually compensation is provided, but at various times, that compensation is not equal to that demanded by the rightful owner.

After the acquisition of the property by the government, that acquired property can be used for whatever use is appointed.

Very socialist. Very unfair. Very "Big Government".

It used to be used for things like freeways, but is now employed to allow the construction of Shopping Malls.

I suspect the the folks who award the rights to the developers are getting rich in so doing. They need to be jailed, not rewarded.

Good morning, Pero, :2wave:

Perhaps a wealthy person can brag that they don't own more than anyone else? :lamo
