You’re Likely Committing A Crime Right Now In “The Land Of The Free"

I haven't a clue about Gramscian strategy. Never heard the term before in my whole life.

As for your not necessarily correct perception of my having zero perception of how "the left" works, that might very result from the fact that I don't really give a tinker's dam about "how the left works", whatever you might mean by that.

For a variety of reasons, one of my hobbies has long been "how humans work", and that is not limited to political parties or viewpoints.

I will continue to support Americans United because they are one of a few organizations that defends religious freedom AND the First Amendment requirement that the government remain neutral in religious matters.

BTW, I do not see libertarianism as some sort of religion, complete with dogma. In the most general terms I agree with it mostly because it offers constitutional governance. That is something the duopoly does not offer in practice.

You can't have it both ways Thoreau, i.e. you can't claim to be above being influenced by leftist strategy, yet admit that you know nothing about it.

If you know nothing about it, how would you know if you were under its influence?? If one of the strategic goals of the left is to enlist unwitting dupes into working for their own enslavement - and you admit you understand none of it - how would you even know if you were, in fact, one of the unwitting dupes??

Communists refer to people like you as useful idiots.

Nothing personal, just pointing out to you that there is an entire field of study out there dedicated to manipulating you into working for your own demise. If you dig under the surface of organizations like the one you mentioned you'd find communist roots, communist support, communist monkey wrenches at every turn.

How many people are aware that Rosa Parks was a member of a communist cell, and that refusing to give up her seat on the bus was her "assignment". Never mind that the cause in a microcosm was correct and just - social justice certainly wasn't, and never has been the goal of communists and those who steer them.

You're a babe in the woods on these subjects. Just b/c you have some gray hairs doesn't mean you know all.

Strategy leaves me cold.

It's values and principles that warm me up. So spare me please the lecture about how I feel about leftist strategy. As I explained so poorly in the first post, I don't give a **** about leftist strategy.

Now, the idea that every citizen in a prosperous society should have healthcare, that turns me on because it is a good idea, not some silly ass strategy, left or right.

Maybe some people don't know the difference between strategy and principle, but this is 2016. I get it.

As you say, "strategy leaves 'you' cold", i.e. you are a simpleton.

Again, nothing personal, you are just too easy and naive to understand how you are being manipulated.

Carry on in your ignorance - they say it is bliss ;)

If there are any simpletons in the room Wist, they are the people who believe without question what party and government officials tell them.

Once, I wrote to the Department of Consumer affairs in Sacrament asking if stores were required to post prices on the shelf of items. (it's my understanding they are) They would not answer my question and told me to consult with an attorney. So I wrote to the State Attorney General's office and asked them. Again, the told me to consult with an attorney. So rooms full of attorney's told me to go ask other rooms full of attorneys.

So it's "do it and find out". But what about "ignorance is no excuse"?

We have way too many laws, and it's almost time to start over.

Well, true... your statement is true - but make no mistake there is a subversive force underneath our society, and has been hard at work for over 100 years. Fools like Mike, Mark, Tiger, The Governess et al, are too easy - they are unthinking automatons. They are the manifestation of Gramscian strategy.

Jamesrage has this as his signature. Great quote by Cicero:

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

Cicero Marcus Tullius

Too true, Wist.

The sad truth is that the subversive force you mention is inside the proverbial gates.

I define it by those who work to defeat the US Constitution. A number of ways to perceive it or judge it, but clearly they are here.
