Hi everyone,

I’m a Canadian/Australian, interested in American politics.

For xenophobes who can’t deal with that, please ignore my posts.

Here is my position laid out so you don’t have to befriend me only to wish later you hadn’t:

I am:

* very conservative

* an atheist

* an admirer of Darwin and the proven science of evolution

* a hater of all brands of Socialism, including National Socialism

* a Trump devotee

* a foe of Carter, Clinton, Obama and Clinton, unionism, environmentalism and feminism

* a supporter of very small government

* a fan of Ayn Rand and Milton Friedman, but no, not libertarianism.

* a lover of science and reason

* immune to troll flame

Cheers,

Rob Larrikin

Interesting mix there that will be interesting to see how it manifests over various topics. Welcome.

A Trump devotee and a supporter of very small government? I'd like to see how that works. But welcome nonetheless.

Thanks Fishking. I noticed in your byline you mentioned right to life – I forgot to mention that in my list. I’m against abortion after 5 months. My reason is that a fetus really starts to look human after that.

Thanks spud_meister.

Yes, ideally a perfect Trump would be all for a tiny government, but then he probably wouldn’t have been elected.

How can you be an Atheist and conservative? Sounds so weird.

I think this is one of Fake News’ little secrets. They know there are millions of atheist conservatives but would prefer to keep the cliché of the bible bashing conservative alive.

Welcome aboard Rob Larrikin :peace

Thanks Serenity - I guess it must be NSW. Wait, you say 'other' for 'lean', so maybe Tasmania. Amiright? Anyway, I'm glad to see another Aussie. :D

Lets just say I may or may not be talking to you come next State of Origin. Sigh.

I kid, my boyfriend supports Queensland although buggered if i will ever understand why. He hasn't lived there since he was 3! Apart from that small hiccup we get along fine :lol:.

People read conservative and automatically assume social conservative.

This is true, because Fake News constantly portray conservatives as bible bashing hillbillies. It's a myth. Millions of conservatives are atheists, and millions happily support abortion. At the same time millions of Democrats are fiercely anti-abortion and very religious, and again, the Fake News avoid that fact like the plague.

I'm almost entirely pro-life (with a few exceptions) and an atheist.

We're all very layered. Unfortunately group identity gets superimposed on people based on labels.

Not another Aussie!!

Hey there. We've got to make room for our New Zealand buddies.

Welcome mate... we'll put a shrimp on the barby for you... and wallop the Wallabies...
